I just aquired a CG125 1982 (I believe, old Y reg)

Anyways some clever person thought he could get it running by ripping all the electrics back to the stator. Now i only have 5 wires coming from the stator, a Coil (with (what i believe to be) the condensor on the side of the coil?) and then one wire coming off of the actual Coil pack.

Now my two questions are:

1) Does this older model CG have a CDI Unit suposed to be in the electrical System? and therefore I'm missing that.

2) What do the 5 wires coming from the stator do in comparision to Live, Ground, etc, as well as the wire coming from the Coil?

If you can help, it would be greatly appricated. Even a wiring diagram if any knows of one? This is only for a mess around for the field as there is no lights and it is in a brave state.

Thanks

Points ignition on that one, should be visible through the hole in the flywheel.

Search for wiring diagrams, theres one thread floating around with pretty much every wiring diagram on it.

Cheers
John

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.
