 |
|
Hello there, just registered and really need some help
I have a suzuki gs 125 from 1990 (picked up from a farm for £130 - bargain!)
well the other night i was riding home, pulled up at traffic lights, and someone said to me my stop bulb wasn't working.
Got home and look for my self, no light on, and when braking still no light. all other lights are fine.
took bulb out, filaments appear in good nick. Going to buy a new one anyway, but i doubt thats a problem.
I looked in the haynes manual for it, was no good.
The only thing i think it could be is that there is a loose black wire sort of touching the metal bit just under where the bulb holder is, and i have no idea where it goes, so perhaps that is shorting it, out?
Its not long enough to screw in anywhere

right well i put a new bulb in it, and it worked! i then pressed the brake lever and it stopped working again. tried another bulb (it was a twin pack) and nothing.
ive pulled the black wire out completely just in case is was not a earth wire, pushed it against the metal casing, and both cases it still didn't work.
Ive got the haynes manual but i has no wiring diagram for the lights so that didn't help.
I assume something is loose perhaps, hence it sometimes works, but i don't know what, the wieing from the switch seems fine as well, no cuts in it or loose bits.
Ive noticed that the metal holder for the bulb is loose as well but i don't see how that could cause an issue the wiring going into the bulb holder is nice and tight.
I am now utterly lost on this |
