How do i do it?

Got a new front tyre on order, as mine is nearing the end of its legal life, gonna get it fitted at Honda who only charge £15 with the wheel on the bike and as i dont have a front stand gonna let them (tenner if off the bike)

So, the problem being, how do i get the tyre from my house, to the garage which is about 7 miles away (no fast roads, all 30mph limits)

ideas I have had

- Wear it round myself - not sure if it would fit / legal implications?
- Bungee it to the back seat of the bike
- Bungee it to myself like a backpack

tyre is for the front of a Hornet
120/70ZR17

Thanx

I have ridden from CityLinkExpress at Brent Cross, picked up a tyre then ridden out to a tyre place towards essex with it round my waist.

You wouldent want to crash with it round your waste so take it easy. should be fine. Thumbs Up

Bungee it or put it round your waist (if it will fit).

Personally I'd bungee it. I've been known to carry a PC tower strapped to the back seat of the C90 before, so a tyre should be fine Laughing

I managed to get 2 tyres secured with loads of gaffer tape (not the gooey stuff) right around my top box. Worked a treat. Thumbs Up

Cheers all... Smile

Will hopefully just wear it, i am not massively overweight, but i am not a light weight
we will see...

17 inch wheel, which is the diameter, so the circumference will be ~50 inches.. should be well okay with that...
I assumed the 17 inch is the size of the wheel so therefore the size of the inside of the tyre. Smile

Was just checking there wasnt a really obvious way that i had over looked.

Shocked I get a pair done for that.

I always take loose wheels as it's less hassle. Helps if you've got a car though.

Otherwise put it over your shoulder or round your waist or even sit on it.

Chuck it round your waist. I rode from Bristol to Reading with 2 moped tyres round my waist for moped madness.

That was tough, they only have little wheels!

Wife/GF/Mate in car.

To be honest, I can never be arsed trying to save £10 or £20 when I need a new tyre.

My local mechanic, only makes a few bob from me, so I always order all my tyres from him for both bikes and he fits them, no hassle to me.

Put the tyre in a taxi and follow them to the honda dealer. But dont pay until you get there.
