caught me speeding Crying or Very sad

I guess it was only a matter of time I suppose. I was driving my car when I got stopped. Get this though, the bugger clocked me for speeding whilst I was overtaking. Confused

I always thought you could exceed the limit whilst overtaking. Guess I was wrong. Rolling Eyes

I'm sure it says in the highway code somewhere that you had to carry out an overtaking move "as quickly and safely as possible".

If you are in a 60 limit then the fastest speed possible is 60mph - so if you are going as quickly as possible then you are going 60mph.

Well if you were going 79 then you were probably over taking a car going about 60. The law would argue that considering the speed limit is 60 you had no need to over take.
