www.sounddistribution.co.uk

Has anyone here bought anything from there? Good or bad to say?

My mate is looking at a Knox rucksack and apparently its £10 cheaper there than anywhere else...

Probably, otherwise they would've gone bust ages ago.

I bought a box of 200 pairs of ear-plugs off them last year, the box was open and only 115 pairs were present. I rang them and they were good enough about it and sent me another 100 pairs for my troubles. I recently ordered some Schuberth visors from them and they e-mailed to say one had been received scratched and would I mind waiting for the next week's stock order to arrive, once again a good service and a well packaged delivery.

I just ordered myself a Knox Six-Pack off eBay this morning but only because I had £40 in my PayPal account. But Sound Distribution's price is very good even with the £5.95 carriage charge. Thumbs Up

Poor attempt at sarcasm as I did say "here", and even if BCF is the universe to you, I doubt its big enough to keep a company afloat Razz

Thanks though Cool

Cheers Lee Thumbs Up

Ordered a set of Motech handlebar risers online. Got an email a couple of days later saying they would have to order. They didn't take the money though.

Unfortunately the fact they haven't gone bust doesn't mean they're any good. Example being DK Motorcycles, people still go there despite the amount of bad press there is about them.

In answer to the original poster, nope I've bought from them so I don't actually have anything helpful to contribute to this thread. Razz

Just ordered humpback paniers and tailbag. Will let you about service once i get the goods mate. They seemed to be cheap after comparing them to ebay, i got quick replys from emails, you will find most online companies hold little stock and have to order them in for you so double check before you order.

I have one and it's well made indeed! It's not just a laptop bag... I got it to take my lappy about from time to time, but it's got quite a lot of room for other stuff. The laptop pouch it comes with (which can be removed) is pretty thick and sturdy. The backpack itself is comfortable and the harnesses support it securely against the body. Also has a visor bag that velcro's into the backpack to stop it moving about. The webbing holds a helmet well (but they don't advise you to do so when riding). Also has compartments for pens/pencils/bits. Thumbs Up

Right quick review:

Arrived Monday from eBay seller johns4652, used Tuesday and today; Tuesday was torrential rain and heavy spray on the motorway. Proved it's self waterproof, though ultimately I'd have long term concerns about the outer pockets. The inner compartment it's self is cavernous at 25L, well padded, and I assume the most waterproof part of the pack. The zip opens wide around three sides making for easy loading/filling. Though there is a storm flap for sealing the zip and a velcro pad to keep it closed it does seem to gape a little toward the bottom, so I think it might leak there eventually. Pockets, loads of pockets, a visor pouch which secures with velcro in the main compartment, and a professional looking laptop pouch. A bonus was the lined, waterproof helmet bag for use when securing a helmet to the outside of the pack. Wearing the pack on the bike was comfortable even when fully loaded. I hardly noticed I was wearing it and it didn't constrict movement at all. The chest and waist straps keep the pack firmly in place, and elastic loops on the straps prevent them flapping in the wind. However, as today was quite warm I did find towards the end of my commute that I was over-heating due to the fact that wearing the pack rendered my jacket vents ineffectual, but that'd happen whatever the pack.

In conclusion I think it's excellent for the price; by comparison the RiDE rucksack review (July 08) listed the SixPack 3rd (38/40) behind the joint first place (39/40) Ogio No Drag @ £120 and the Kriega R25 @ £79. But I can't see the price of those sacks being justified by the extra point scored for "road testing", and the SixPack has a larger capacity. Thumbs Up
