How much shit would you be in for writing your name in massive letters, in permanent marker, on the back of a speed camera?

I really want to do it, as there is one right by me that really gets on my tits.

Bearing in mind I probably wont get caught, 2am job, and I have no previous criminal record Smile

I know its stupidly immature, but I just think it would be hilarious everytime i ride past, and I want to see how long it lasts Smile

Thumbs Up

You won't get caught? Not at all.. You only put your name on a speed camera that the police could look at and run your name through a database to find out where you live.

nah you won't get caught...

Technically it is criminal damage so don't get caught doing it and use Essex sex protection*

Go for it, no Judge would send you to prison for it. The loony bin or a community care house for the slow of learning maybe, but not prison. Wink

Make sure you take photo's of it and get a mate to video you on his mobile FTW.

Rather than write your name on the back, smear grease over the lens instead, do all the local motorists a favour.

Idiot.

Make sure you leave some 'prints as well, maybe even sellotape a favourite memento to the camera: old letters from a loved one, favourite trainers, etc.

Surely you would'nt really use permanent marker? That stuff is deadly. It's said that in a nuclear war, only cockroaches and permanent marker ink will survive...

Seriously, are you the kinda kid who thinks permanent marker is "permanent" becuase last time you wrote shit on the school toilets, it was there all term? It wasn't becuase it was "permanent", it was becuase the cleaners didn't give two hoots about your illiterate scribblings.

permanent marker can be removed like dust with the right spray.

If the camera bothers you, do things properly. Balaclava, latex gloves, petrol bought out of town, tyre stolen from an industrial estate yard (whilst wearing mask, etc), over camera, burn. Trash the fucking thing and raise a fist to the state machine. Graffitti is just ego masturbation.

I thought you were gonna do something useful like.. Someone on here who rides a 50cc, forgot the name. But they took their plate off to see if the camera was working and then wrote that it wasn't.

If you really don't like the thing do something about it, don't write your name on it, what does that achieve??

I think it's a brilliant idea. As long as you write your name in big black letters all over the flash, lense and radar. Anywhere else on the camera would be pointless.

You don't need to take your plate off to see if they work. Look in the bottom right and if its shiny then it works if its not then it doesn't.

lmao, i wana try this. Not burning them cos they will realise and just replace the bugger.

I would smear grease on the lens and put tape over the radar.

It would take a while for them to notice. Keep a check on it so that when they realise and fix it, just do it again.

EDIT: ive removed the 'And' off my sentence, sorry but i didnt think it was that big of a problem tbh.

Do they not have to be re calibrated every day for legal reasons otherwise people can claim that it is not recording the wrong speed? Therefore i don't think it would last long...

Someone always puts a sad face on the one by me with spraypaint, it gets cleared off after about a week, but the person who does it has tried it 3 times Laughing

My next door neighbors grandad walked past one with his umbrella up and broke his umbrella on it. After he complained to the council they compensated him for a new umbrella Laughing Very Happy

LOL no you wont get caught.

But hey if you do there's this nice big thread to use as evidence. Blimey are some people really that stupid? If you want to do it, then just do it. Dont post up on a massively public forum asking if you should or not. Because you do it now everyone will know its you.
