whats the best way to stop a leak.
there is no gasket, and there isnt an option of takeing the cover off, or tightening the bolts more.
im thinking silcon around the join/ leak?

Depends where it is, but when I had a crack in my bandit's cover's threading, I just undid the bolt and sprayed brake cleaner into it, then after it had dried, I sealed it with vht silicone sealant.
Lasted fine
