First or second exit left hand lane (or positioned left on the roundabout), third exit right hand lane (or positioned right on the road).

I do a lifesaver and check my mirrors every time I pass a junction to make sure no cager wants to cut from the right to the left of the roundabout (via me!)

Most important check for me is the check over my left hand shoulder if moving from the right hand side of the roundabout and moving across to take the third exit.

Look at every roundabout as a clockface and you are approaching at 6pm. Anything that is 12pm and before (inclusive) should be in the left hand lane. Anything after 12pm, you should be in the right hand lane EXCEPT for roundabouts (generally the larger ones) which have specific lanes for exits. There should be a sign (which you should always be actively looking for) indicating which lane for what exit PLUS the white writing on the ground which tell you where the lanes go.

Indicate left as you approach the roundabout for 1st exits or right for last exits. Any other exit, do not indicate as you approach, but indicate just as you pass the exit of the one before the exit you require. Always mirror, indicator, lifesaver and move over into your exit.

As you exit a roundabout, it should literally forma straight line from where you are on the roundabout into the exit you want (bar any really weird shaped/ awkward roundabouts/exits).

Hope that helps

1. First exit do the following:
right mirror
left mirror
position to left of lane
left lifesaver
left indicator
all before you hit the roundabout...
then cancel your indicator when you're off and check both mirrors

2. Any exist between 6 o clock and 12 o clock, except the first:
right mirror
left mirror
position to left of lane
before you hit the roundabout then...
left lifesaver
left indicator
at the exit before the one you are taking...
then cancel your indicator when you're off and check both mirrors

3. Any exit between 12 o clock and 6 o clock do the following:
left mirror
right mirror
position to right of lane
right lifesaver
right indicator
before you hit the roundabout then...
left lifesaver
left indicator
at the exit before the one you are taking...
then cancel your indicator when you're off and check both mirrors
