Three years ago at Eid (festival after ramadan) I was parking up outside the Post Office (there are concrete bollards to stop you parking there) gorgeous girl in her new Eid clothes and dripping with gold and style walks out of Post Office. Watching her I failed to notice the bollard and broke my foot on it, girl was not very impressed.

Not actually a crash but last friday I was riding along in slow moving traffic, saw a bloke being attended to by paramedics on the pavement so was being nosey, looked foward and the car in front of me had stopped, hit the front brake before the back, ended up having my back wheel go above my head before landing to a standstill about 10cm from the rear bumper of this car.

misjudged mounting a kerb, slightly wrong angle and heights, ended up sliding a mint rvf400 with carbonfibre fairings (newly painted) down the pavement.. was no reason for it what so ever, not a forced error.
Was such a newbie mistake, thx god for R&G's

Put the sidestand down on my boot once, didnt realise and went to step off the bike and a combo of me being off balance by having my foot trapped followed by the sidestand flipping up meant that both me and bike toppled over.

Itchy and Froggeh giggled and then helped me up.

Luckily i havent bailed yet although whilst learning you need to pay attention on the road i almost went into the back of another car and had to do a very sharp stop about 3 inches from its bumper.

This winter gone i turned downa rather icey street and at about 5mph slipped both wheels out luckily catching the ground with my foot and supporting the skid.

and on the gs my idle hadnt been set as i was running the bike to do so, the idle was so high that my poorly adjusted clutch wouldnt allow me to stop the bike and i just kept going! Luckily a combination of clutch in and both brakes on did JUST work. Schoolboy error!

Out on my RM125 in the middle of winter, loads of wet mud around. Lost the front end on a slow speed left hander, slow enough that i just sort of stepped off the bike as it went down.
What i didn't realise, was that the lefthand side of the bars had stuck into the mud and pulled the clutch lever back.
So, as i lifted the bike up out of the mud, the clutch lever pinged back out engaging 1st gear, the bike lurched out of my hands and fell over again. I managed to lose my balance, stumbled forward and fell onto the top of the bike and rolled off it, so i was lying with my legs in the air and my arse sort of perched on the bottom of the frame.
I sat there laughing for a while, until i realised i had my bum touching the spannie and it was begining to burn through my trousers and had scorched my arse!

Couple of weeks ago, Out for a little ride after work, In a town i'm not so familiar with, Went up a cul-de-sac and i realised i'd taken the wrong turn.

Ok i thought, U-turn.

Glance behind, Glance forward, Noticed a girl walking towards me chatting away on her phone, Start the U-turn, Thoughts turn to "She was actually quite nice, I'll get another look in a couple of seconds"

In that thought i was sailing towards the curb and (stupidly) grabbed a handfull of the front, Cue bike and me slowly falling over. Think the girl was in stitches once i got out of sight (rather sharply shall i add )

Just found this in my hard drive from five years ago.

Ouch!
I said “Ouch” twenty three times, one for each stitch as the nurse cut them out of my arm. I also recited the mantra “I must make sure the bike is in neutral.” after each fresh ouch.
Ten days previous to the above episode I was explaining to a rather pretty Nurse Practitioner, with much embarrassment, why I had a six-inch long split in my left arm through which she was now observing the muscle and tendons working.
As a biker (Harley Sportster) she gave me a sympathetic ear as I let out the humiliating tale.
As I had not actually been on the NH it could not be said that I had fallen off. What had happened is this.
It was the morning of the first day of term at school and I was looking forward to seeing the kids back, however the 350 was in a belligerent mood and did not respond to the kick-start. So I slotted it into first gear and attempted to bump her along the pavement with not an iota of response. By now I was cursing about the shoddy workmanship of pre WW2 Selly Oak. I lifted the bike onto the rear stand and returned home to get a wire brush. As imagined the plug looked a bit oily but it took only a few seconds to clean. The bike of course fired up first kick and I gave the throttle a blip to keep her going, I smartly moved to the left hand side and gave another touch of the twist grip as I pushed her off the stand.
Things happened very quickly. My overriding impression was of having the skin abraded from my knees as I tried to keep hold of the handlebars from the side of the little 350. With my head along side of the tank I could not see the speedo, the carb was well open as the momentum of the bike had caused me to take a big hand full, but I do not think it could have been going more than 15 MPH. As I contemplated on how to get on to my feet things came to a sudden halt. It seems that I had been dragged alongside a row of garden walls all perfectly ok until I met a gate and fell into the gap. I pulled her back on to the stand and pushed the headlamp back into shape and looked at my arm which was a little sore.
Restarting the bike was not easy as the steel trials footrest had removed quite a lot of meat from my calf to compliment my ripped knees but I am happy to report the Ariel performed perfectly all the way to A&E.
The injuries I received were not life threatening but very unpleasant, a very tattoo able arm is now destined to be ink free. I was wearing a leather jacket and the impact was at low speed.
My starting ritual is now close to obsessive, once started I make sure the back wheel is not being driven with my foot but I still pull the clutch in as she comes off the stand.
Please take heed from my little accident and do not start your bikes in gear. Of course you would never be so silly.

A little while back I had filled the RXS100 with petrol and was riding on the slip road of the petrol station back up to the main road at about 25mph. Noticed that I hadn't shut the fuel cap properly. Pressed down on it, lost my balance, went into the kerb and was sent sprawling down an embankment.

Dropped it whilst pushing it along a fairly smooth farm track when bump starting, suddenly the front wheel went into this huge pothole (like the vicar of dibley it was) and the bike fell over on me.

Cue laughing farmy bumpkins coming to my aid.

Only crashed once and the only excuse I could muster was that I f*cked up... Long week at work as my boss was leaving and threw a pile of new jobs at me to cover. That evening it was his leaving do and I'd just set off home. It was winter, so cold, dark and raining.... I was just thinking about how I was going sort out some food, get changed and get back to "town" to meet everyone.

I'm on a dual carriageway and in full auto pilot. I go to move to the outside lane to overtake the slow car in front, check my mirror/shoulder then make my move. To my horror it is at this point as I complete the lane change I realise that there is a car braking heavily in front of me. It was also around this moment I became aware that I was on a motorbike and was supposed to be paying attention and now had to do something about this developing hazard.

Due to my speed there was barely enough space to stop if it had been dry as it was wet I didn't have a chance in hell. In the increasing panic I locked up the front and soon after the bike was heading towards the ground. So in summary complete failure of basic observations, complacency and panic caused my off... Lessons learned - always focus on the matter at hand!

PS: Bike crashed into the the car in front, fortunately I wasn't on it at the time. Even more fortunately the cars following behind all managed to stop in time. Although less fortunately for them the cars behind them didn't! The wet roads and driving too close claimed a few people that evening...

Twas like some cunt had turned em off. So I had a vague guess at it... which meant I speared off at random. Did fuck all real damage, but not good.
