It will turn/drop into the corner faster, I think due to slightly altered geometry.

It will also increase the weight loading over the front wheel very slightly, which should therefore increase front end grip (or rather increase the force turning the bike from the front end in any given situation, with all things equal).

If that is what you want, go for it.

I would suggest, however, that spending a few hundred quid (propb under 500) on having the forks and rear shock rebuilt to your spec (i.e. weight & use) would actually make a substantial difference to the bike which you would be able to feel and appreciate.

should speed up steering but doesn't do anything for comfort, i dropped mine down close to 10 mm.
Read somewhere before that adding more pre-load has the same effect.
