He hasn't made it into a cafe racer yet...

Cool, first things first get rid of the bars and get drop bars/clip ons, I was really tempted to do this to my RXS but lost interest once bigger bikes came along.

You fail at making a "cg125 cafe racer"

Here is my Cg125 Sprint bike:
Soon to have an Xl250 engine ,full classic style fairring and clipons when I get some made.
(any one know what mm cg forks are ?)

That is a pretty decent looking CG stokes.

I would personally go for clip ons for the full effect, the flat bars don't really go with the rest of it.

Thanks
I am going to get clipons.
Will have to have them custom made as cg forks are very small, most clipons are made for bigger forks, 35mm ect.

Nice bike Jamie Thumbs Up Though it'll cease to be a CG when you fit the XL engine Razz

We don't know if Ben is "fail" at making a CG Cafe racer because he's barely started it yet Confused And I think he's probably more concerned about recovering from his off.

Yeah, now's probably not a good time to restart the stokes/ wolf war. At least wait 'till he's on the mend!

Have to say though Jamie that looks bloody nice, and will be nicer still with clip- ons on. Get rid of the standard battery box cover though, that sticks out like a sore thumb!

Didn't realize he has had an off, Hope your ok ben, get well soon mate.

Re battery cover, I was thinking of taking the air box off, and both side pannels and just having a "space" under the seat, might try it at some point and see what it looks like, I also need to get a new swing arm as the one thats on it has been extended by 2 inches and it has affected how the bike handles a bit.
It also sticks out a lot and looks a bit daft. Shocked

Thanks, I was thinking about this the other day, it appeals to me to leave it as a 125 just for the fact that It would still be a Cg, but on the other hand an Xr250 engine would be more competitive at thundersprint next year.... Thinking
Ill have to have a good think about it at some point, need to get the Fairing and clipons sorted before I do anything else

I think he lost interest in his CG once he got his SRAD and if he does go near a bike it will probably fixing up his SRAD.

I was supposed to be helping him strip down his FZR but that could be a while until we do that now.

A half one would look awesome. Not keen on full fairings as it takes away the Cafe Racer vibe. Even better, get a half fairing with a headlamp in the middle, would look the mutt's.

Oh, and go for it with the airbox removal, just having an open trumpet there for the carb would look ace Thumbs Up

That's a damn cool bike.

Is the XL engine an easy fit? IIRC the XL is an OHC design whereas the CG is pushrod, so the XL engine might be a fair bit taller.

Go for the airbox removal, plus you might be able to stick the battery in the seat hump to tidy it up (if it even needs one).

well,I know an Xl185 engine will go right in, if a 250 won't then ill modify the frame a bit Smile
Doesn't use a battery, just has a wire going up to the coil and a kill switch.

Another engine possibility is a cb250 rs, although I think this would need new mounts making, but pushing out 26bhp it would go well.

Modify the frame? I know frame's are made to hold engines a tad bigger than they're given but if you push it's limits by weakening it's integrity it's gonna gladly bite you in the ass. And as chives said, lonewolf has other things to do besides a cafe racer so he aint failed, it's just "on hold".

Edited.

Also, aint selective quoting a b*tch?

EDIT - infact Jamie, from your minimal posts that I've seen you seen to have matured a bit, Hope so. Thumbs Up Sure you'd be alright if so, and there's no need for a childish 'vendetta'. Embarassed Laughing
