Well, things haven't gona according to plan work-wise and I am only just now booking my DAS.

Chances are I will just sell my 125cc to pay for it a and do one of two things:

1) Get finance for decent bike - can't afford more than £120 per month and will probably have to get a mid to sub-prime finance deal from welcome finance or a similar company. I'll have to see what they offer and how many body parts they want for it.....

2) Sell 125cc and buy a properly cheap bike for the winter. I'm talking about a 1980's, sub £500 iron horse to get me about over the winter and provide cheap laughs and possibly a tart-it-up-and-sell-it-for-what-you-paid type mission over winter.

I'd like some input on both options. Anyone have real experience with these finance companies for bad risks?? Rates? Would you recommend it?

Also tell me about your experience with/knowledge of cheap bikes. GPZ550 unitrack for £350? plastic maggots? Tell me how you'd go about it if you were me.

One way or another I'm getting a bigger bike - thanks in advance for the input.

Buy something cheap to learn on over the winter, and sell it, OLD bikes never seem to go below a certain value anyway, and if you drop it which you will no big heart ache.

Yes I am leaning toward that idea, thanks.

Any recommendation for what to avoid/look for in a cheapie?

I don't want to buy a dog! Where should I look?
