Hi all,

currently looking to upgrade from my 125 City Fly and have come across a Honda Hornet 600F on an 03 plate for £1,100 with 12 months MOT.
Is this a bargain or suspiciously cheap?

cheers

John

Suspiciously Cheap

Honda CB600 F-3
2003/03
Original Price £4,699
Independent Dealer £2,535
Private Good £2,385
Private Poor £2,000
Part Exchange £2,280

That is from Parkers Price guide

Check it over well, and get a HPI check on it

exact wording of ad below - seems like too much of a bargain to me - but I'm naturally very cynical!

2003 Honda Hornet CB 600 F - 2 7078 Miles - 12 months MOT - 11 Months Tax Datatool system 3 alarm This is truly a fantastic if hardly used bike and will bring a lot of pleasure to someone who is looking for good mileage and cheap insurance

It could be a bargain as long as you're not thinking it'd be a mind condition bike for that money.

Expect bodywork would have various marks on it, and it may or may not be in need of mechanical attention. If it's cheap then there will be a reason.

Doubt it'd be a ringer cos it'd be less suspicious if priced at market price, I think it's just a bike in need of some work doing.

Advert reads genuine enough, if it's private. If it's trade then forget it there's something very wrong at that price.

Check the frame and engine numbers against the V5. If it has either wrong or tampered with, or there's no V5 - run a mile.

Do that for every bike, regardless of expensive or cheap it is. Wink

Beware of outstanding HP on it, if it is on loan the company will take it back of you and bang goes your cash.
