PostPosted: 08:54 - 02 Aug 2008    Post subject: Music choice for my wedding! Help!! Reply with quote

I'm looking for a bit of help with my wedding march! Mcjamweasel and myself are getting wed in October (not long now!) and I'm in a turmoil with what music to walk down the aisle to.

To give you an idea, the wedding is in a pub and we have a loose music theme of 80's rock.

We have to provide the music for the background as guests assemble (12 mins), entrance of the bride (2 mins), signing of the register/taking photos (10 mins), exit music (2-3 mins).

We have some definates:

Iron Maiden - The evil that men do (background music)
Stevie Nicks - Edge of Seventeen (background music)
Tyketto - Forever Young (exit music)

For the entrance of the bride, so far I've considered the latter half of Easter by Marillion, Satellite (acoustic version) by Collective Soul and Pachebel's Canon in D Major (guitar heaven version), but I just can't make a decision!!

I know it's a very personal thing, but I'm hoping you can throw some suggestions around to get us thinking...

Cheers

Karen

Can't help I'm afraid, BUT - any chance you have got this on MP3 that you could 'share' with me?

Ali walked down the aisle to this, but the original version, me I prefer the one you have....

Ok, I know not rock, more glam rockish, but someone had to mention it Rolling Eyes

More on-topic - Cheap Trick's I want you to want me is one that springs to mind.

I forgot to mention that we're having a band playing at the reception too, and they are playing White Wedding, along with Ghostbusters, Word Up and a few others!!

Keep these suggestions coming, they're great!!!

Karen.... I feel your pain.

Hardest part for us was choosing the music. Sharon went for the intro to a coldplay song... just have to loop the bugger over and over now so she can walk in to it.

Best of luck... you'll need it with Col Laughing

Surely this. I'm sure there are English lyrics available...

Or maybe you're more familiar with this?

How very strange. This week I'm working in Copenhagen and only this morning was watching The Moomins in Danish. Not only that, but I recorded the theme song on my camera, and was going to suggest it to Mcjam as a potential entrance song!

(The Finnish version is funnier though!) Thumbs Up

Shocked Wow, how's that for coincidence!

I dare you to use the theme song as the entrance song! Laughing

Bride's arrival - Soave sia il vento from Cosi fan tutte.

Canon in D is a bit of a dirge, I reckon.

Best soundtrack ever,

So many a drunken night we have redeuced a girl to fits of giggles (and once tears) by doing the bar routine

"Excuse me"
"Sorry miss , I'll handle this"
"You never close your eyes..."

We even got chucked out a pub once for it. Laughing
