I've pestered my husband ian to take me as i've never been on a rally before Sad ( yes sad I know ) plus it will be our 1st wedding anniversery so I'm hoping it will be a good do. Wink

The new site is alongside the A688 at Streatlam
between Staindrop and Barnard Castle.

One part of that site tells me 'no tickets - no entry' another part of the site says tickets on gate for bikes or trikes only. So which is it?

Hi, it means you can't buy tickets on the gate unless you are riding a bike/trike as no pedestrians are allowed in on foot.

Right OK. Didn't want to turn up and have to turn around because I didn't have tickets.

Should be an 'emotional' ride up the A1 - two up!! Laughing

Can't wait, it'll be the biggest rally I've been to this year where I'm not working and missing most of the fun Thumbs Up

Their site says the ground seems to drain really well, so even in the inevitable rainy weather it will hopefully be less of a quagmire than other rallies. Thumbs Up

What a bastard. Fucking roads are hideous, took me 35 mins to commute the 10 mins home. My lass has covered 5 mins of M1 in 45 mins, so will no way get here for a reasonable time for us to set off Mad

Gonna try to get up there tomorrow morning instead, weather will still be wank but at least there will be fewer agitated, tired, impatient drivers all trying to get home...

I wanted to see the Thin Lizzy tribute too Crying or Very sad

Latest News & Information
05 Sep 2008Severe Weather Warning
Please be aware that although the event is still running, the site is in a very bad condition. We are advising people to park their bikes at the top of the site. Also there is a severe weather warning in operation - torrential rain and high winds are expected tonight. Addtionally the A66 is closed West of the site.

They shut the rally down at about 10.30 on the saturday morning. I think it was something to do with the medics lost their clean/safe working conditions due to the mud/rain and were unable to resolve sorting somewhere clean to work.
Judging by the photos I've seen, I can understand why. There's quite an active thread going on at the 100% Biker magazine forums on this.
