Went to bed early, got up at 6am
Got ready and filled bike with petrol, then got papers from house, time: 7:40am
Went to test centre, time: 8am
30 mins to spare... went for a practise ride...
Got back to test centre and 8:20am
Parked bike next to examiners bmw
waited outside centre (doors locked)
doors opened: 8:30am
examiner called me in: 8:38am
"Can you give me your papers please"
"Sure"
"Can I have your counterpart licence"
SHITCUNTARSEFANNYTWATHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Counterpart licence?"
**Thinks to self**Er looking at my reaction... does it look like I have it!!**
"I've left it at home, can I get someone to drop it off??? I only live 5 mins away??"
"The test starts in 2 min.."

C*nt

Right now I have to try get someones cancellation or try get a test that a school has bulk bought

I wasnt guna come back on here till I had passed because then I'd be happy again but I saw Ant's pm and thought.. fuck it.. if anyones guna help me.. its guna be you guys

(p.s. thanks for enquiring about me ant Wink )

So situation is; I need to get a test ASAP, dont want to do the new test and my bike is still at the shop I bought it from.. and they phoned me yesterday saying that if they have to keep it any longer they will have to charge me for storage....
And I cant ride it back to mine until I get my licence

So anyone able to help a poor desperate guy out?
Anyone got a test booked that I can buy off them??
I'll pay you good money Crying or Very sad

That sucks, shame you forgot your docs. What I normally do is getting everything ready the night before, put it all together in a bag/folder etc. Then you know it is there and can just pick it up and go. Although a double check wouldn't hurt.

Good luck booking your test again! Smile

Be cheaper to get someone to collect the bike and bring it back for you... man with a van company local would probably do it. If it's not too far, just walk it.

well its about 5 miles away.. but all its got on it is like a week or so of MOT left.. so I dont know.. I'll have to declare it as SORN if I cant put anything on it for like a month or 2 (dsa are taking bookings for like november and I dont even know if there is a new test centre near me).

and thats really what pisses me off.. I had so much time and I checked it several times, I just forgot I needed the counterpart. All my driving/biking papers are together in a plastic folder and because my I used the counterpart last for my car, it was somewhere at the back of it and I would only of knew I needed it if I saw it, as it would have reminded me. But yea I know it was my fault although the examiner was less than helpful

Only option is to get a test (cancellation probably) before the end of september.. so if anyone is not in a rush to pass and has a test booked before than and wants abit of cash lol...

5 miles is a pushable distance, though I dunno how fit you are, maybe take it in a couple legs and get some breaks. Also, depends on hill's and the like to a large extent, though I'm sure you could find some mechanical assistance from the bike if you encountered a hill.

Regarding the test, go print out the offroad layout, buy some cones and a tape measure and go practice when it's dark in an industrial estate/carpark.

Here's the offroad layouts you'll need:

You could check online to see which centres still have dates available, there must be one... as you probably know, all you need is your teory test certificate number and your licence number clicky clicky click click

I've just phoned a bike school in tiptree, colchester, and the guy there said the earliest test he has is september 16th..

he said he could only do a full course (3 days then test) which was £450...

having already done my training I wasnt too happy with that

anyone know of a bike school that will let me do a refresher course or buy a test off them?

Call the DSA on Monday morning, you should be able to get a cancellation somewhere. Even if you could find someone who was willing to sell their test slot at a premium, they'd have to cancel it and the there'd be nothing stopping it being booked up by someone else. Laughing

Have you tried asking the bike shop if they'll deliver the bike, it's only 5 miles so not exactly a big deal for them? Explain the situation to them, given that they'll all have bike licenses and they want your bike out the way I'd have thought they'll be able to help you out. Smile

yea im guna call them on monday, im hoping they'll have a slot somewhere

and if someone wanted to sell me their slot, they should be able to change the name on the test booking, I think you can do it online or if you phone dsa they will change the name so it is possible

and nah they wont do it, I already tried Crying or Very sad

I've already paid for the bike! £1500 straight up..

The only helpful thing they've done is hold the bike for 3 weeks but they are saying they want the space now

I'm giving them the restriction washers that I bought off someone tomorrow which basically means they want it gone by tuesday or a few days after

This whole bike things coming to alot of money even though I love it... the main plus side to it was that its cheaper to run than a car but at this rate my cars guna work out cheaper on the road lol

Damn, know anyone else around there who could ride your bike home for you?

I'd probably just ride it home and ignore the fact you're not passed your test yet, it's only 5 miles. But that'd be quite illegal so I'd never do anything like that really. Wink

C'mon. Push it home. 5 miles ain't so far. Get a friend with you. Take turns/breaks.

Make a day out of it.

You're making a lot of fuss over very little, me thinks.

(I pushed my ybr a similar distance. Sure, it's lighter than your bike, but I just got on with it).

haha I was thinking about that

and its not pushing the bike back im worried about, I'm worried that if I dont have my licence yet it means I can put insurance and tax on it (MOT's out soon too) which means ill have to put it on SORN.. which is silly since it's really not THAT long till my test

if you were in my shoes you'd see it as a big deal, but hopefully I can get a cancellation, if not ill just wait till theres more tests on the site (probably november) only way I guess

and what's all this about forgetting your counterpart license? Jeeeeez, talk about shooting yourself in the foot!

Still, the examiner was clearly a cock head for not allowing you to fetch it.

I'd take my business elsewhere and two fingers to them!

not sure where abouts you live, but i did my test 2 weeks ago and done my training with west london motorcycle training, its near feltham! i paid £290 for a 2 day course (including bike hire, and test fee! so itll be less for you!) and they bulk buy tests. their 2 day course is basically a refresher then the test on the next day, could be what you are looking for! i did my test in hendon, but they have tests in about 4-5 different centres! you could be lucky! i called them up and i got my training and test booked in the week after!

heres the contact details:

531, Staines Road,
Bedfont,
Feltham,
Middlesex
TW14 8BP

Tel: 0208 890 8739
Tel: 0870 609 4154

if you do have trouble getting through to those numbers, here is a mobile number i was given while on the course : 07920014289

best of luck Thumbs Up

the place I trained say on their website they still have plenty of tests available before the new one starts, but maybe too far away from you. Between Southport and Preston.

from their website:

STILL PLENTY OF TESTS LEFT BEFORE THE NEW BIKE TEST STARTS ON THE 29TH SEPTEMBER PROVIDING YOU HAVE TAKEN AND PASSED YOUR THEORY TEST
