We're moving in October, and most likely will not have a garage. I'll have to rent a spot in some local one, but obviously they're not gonna let me fuck about there. Can you think of any other options apart from having the dealers do even the most basic stuff like changing piston rings?
I almost got a fine once for changine rear sprocket on the street...

im going to be in a similar situation soon, hopefully you will be able to have a friend with a garage or some space.

a lot of flats will have their own parking spaces (depending where it is of course) and you can do what you want there.

what exactly were they going to fine you for?

Not sure, but apparently it's illegal to be doing that sort of thing on the street in Spain...

I think it is in the UK too.

It's at least against the council bye-laws in some London boroughs; only emergency roadside repairs are allowed.

Would anyone actually really try and do you for doing work on yourbike outside? I'd just do it in the street, etc.

The reason the police saw me was because some old hag called them! I just can't believe how pissy people can be sometimes. Never midn their own business... If I was stealing something I wouldn't be fucking doing it in front of a mechanic (lent me some tools) in broad daylight!
