My fault as ive been putting car before bike for a while now. Thing is, do I have to pay full price again to get it renewed and does anyone know what the average going rate is per hour for rider training if you dont have a bike. Also can you do your test on a riding school bike? Im expecting this to be expensive so looks like student loan and savings are gonna get even more hammer.

Id better get used to Kwik Save beans for next year Wink

I'm doing my CBT tomorrow and the average price I found, using their bikes, was £90 for the day

Unfortunately you will have to do a full CBT course again at the full price. Although you have ridden in the past, to obtain your certificate you have to satisfy your instructor that you are competent in all the components of CBT so there are no short cuts I am afraid.

Cost per hour on a school bike is very much dependant on the school. I used to charge £30 an hour on the 600 and £20 on the 125 the cost of taking the test on our bike was £80 but that did include a 90 minute warm up lesson immediately prior to the test and then an escort back on completion. This was one way that students could spread their costs.

Other schools will do an all inclusive course over 3, 4 or 5 days for between £400 and £600 (including test fees) so it would pay to have a shop around.
