Thinking of getting the new Er5 frame and swing arm powder coated black, what is a reasonable price for this ( Don't want to get ripped off)

Many thanks.

Wotcha.

I had the frame and swing arm off my BSA done at Bournes, in Birmingham, not so long back - cost around £ 60 for the two, if I recall correctly.
Price will reflect the quality.
Places like Bournes are cheap and cheerful - there will be some blemishes and you will get marks where they hang the stuff. The folks that work there ain't bikers, so they don't know which parts will be visible when on the bike - also, they are mainly young kids, on minimum wage, so they ain't really going to have much pride in what they do.
Somewhere like Redditch Powder Coaters will be more expensive, but the finish will be better, and they take more care over what they do.

I paid £100 last year. Included shotblasting, checking for faults in the frame and some sort of zinc coating. They did a beautiful job.

Hi Jamie, I got my ER5 powder coated earlier this year by Chicago Powder Coating in Mossley.
They did frame, swingarm, centre and side stands, torque arm, both wheels, brake plate and footrest hangers.
All this was only £95 and they did a superb job. Even masked off most of the threads for me. Highly recommended company.

Is that Mossley as in the one near Manchester and next to Ashton?

EDIT: Nevermind, found them with Google. May take a visit to them, seems very cheap.

I drive past that place everyweek. May give them a call next time I need anything doing. I used triple s in bingley when I had my wheels done. They did a fantastic job, but they're not cheap.

When i had the er5 frame done red, it cost £45 for sandblasting as well. Got it done at Metal Magic in barnsley. Was sooo sexy after.
Also had a big box of nsr parts done there too, cost £25. They dont have a set price, they just tell you a price, and then you say another. A bit like selling a bike.

Bournes do most of my work, they are ok (not brilliant). If this is a bike for sprinting have the frame plated not coated as every gram counts.
