What is my model is my NSR

I’m a bit puzzled to be honest. I’m not sure what type of 2001 NSR mine is.

On the dealer’s booklet that came with it, it has Honda NSR RR scrawled over the front of it. But on the HPI it doesn’t say it’s an RR or that’s it’s imported.

I currently have it insured as an R but I'm not sure it’s even an R.

The main reason I'm asking because I just took a look on NSR125.com and it says my bike should be able to manage 100 derestricted but mine comes nothing close, only scraping 85.

And as it says on the site some Import bikes have CDI restriction.

So:

A. how do you tell the difference between the bikes.

B. If mine turns out to me an import RR by some freak accident can I just put a UK spec CDI unit in to remove the restriction or is it more complicated.

It will say country of orign on the V5.

The number of 'R's on the insurance details ain't really a problem. It's an NSR at the end of the day so thats enough Smile

It does sound like it is restricted. Have you removed the air intake one and the exhaust one then?

Yeah I removed both the restrictors, maybe mines just a slow one.

I got the same problem with my NSR. Doesn't say it's an import anywhere on the V5. Or that it's an RR. Both restrictors from nsr125.com have been removed. But I can only get to 85mph.

My test is in a week. So I have the option to get another bike soon and just leave the NSR how it is. But I'm going to have to save up for a bit till I can buy one. Right now I'd just like to have a half decent motorway journey. I know it's going to be awful on the restricted NSR. So if someone figures this out, please post the answer.

My nsr was struggling to get 90mph, did a compression test (reading low) ordered some piston rings, used it 1 last time to get to college, and the rings went taking out the exhaust ports Crying or Very sad
