Im waiting on this to come back from the shop. i got it before they were meant to be released as i know a few people, took it out and wrapped myself into a tree at 30mph!

Damaged the swing arm but kona are replacing it for free as it snapped (defect i claimed Very Happy)

Fitting marzocchi's once i've sorted out a new motorcycle!

Looks good, was going to get a kona but the giant felt better in the store when i sat on it, plus ive ridden a mates before and it was sweet to ride.

Just gone from a full suspension to the hard tail since i never used the rear suspension and it just became unpractical and uncomfortable.

A full sus bike under a grand is a big mistake anyway. i have a diamondback coil FS is got given by a local company to destroy (yes thats why they gave me it to ride to death) although it wont die the suspension on it is shite!

Saying that, i ride fairly hard, for the normal guy riding to work it might be alright!

Do love a good full susser though.

What brakes are on your giant?

I might have some shimano deore's you can have cheap if they'd be an upgrade Very Happy

I didnt check where you live, but get yourself to newcastle sometime and i'll show you what it's like to play dodge the pedestrian, it's a bloody amazing game! Mr. Green

Brakes are my downfall Embarassed

Its pretty much all deore except them which are giant's own mph's.

What are the deore's you've got? What price?

Its so much quicker around town centre pedestrian zones when you're on a pushbike rather than on foot. Whistle Bonus points when you get a PCSO shouting at you to stop and get off your bike. Laughing

Pedestrian dodging is annoying when you're trying to actually cycle somewhere and everywhere there's dog walkers, ramblers, and families with small stupid children. Unless you actually want to run people over then you have to slow down whilst they get out the way.

They should all just stay on footpaths rather than going on trails where pushbikes are allowed, there are so many more footpaths across the country yet they feel the need to use the few trails that pushbikes are allowed to use. Rolling Eyes

Not trying to be clever here cos i regret getting caught but I spent a night in a cell and had to pay for a kona stuff to be released from police holdings after getting arrested for illegal street racing in durham city center on push bikes! Laughing

Laughing Laughing Getting arrested for illegal street racing on pushbikes. Laughing I'd be quite proud of that as long as they give you get something in writing about it to confirm your achievement. Razz

They must have been really bored that day if that was the most productive way they could spend their time. Boi racers? Motorcyclists? Nah, lets just go chasing people on pushbikes. Rolling Eyes

in allf airness there was about 20 of us racing and we'd been doing it week in week out, it was fucking good fun though!

Saying that having a 30lb kona and its rider wipe you out wouldnt tickle...

Possibly incorrect as I havent shown an interest since dismantling my Marin. Marzocchi's are exactly what you have are they not?

There is not really enough downhill out here on the plain to need much more than an XC bike. Looks tidy though!

Sorry i meant different marzocchi's i have a set of 888 cup forks in the shed which should allow me a bit more play.

Brakes also want upgrading, they lock up easily enough but theyre shite!

Triple pots are the way forward i think.

know parts that are good for XC. There is also a woods called collingbourne woods, which has a lot of singletrack.

There are some fairly good downhills (7 of them) within 500 metres, same hill, different tracks. Called the 7 sisters that would be not too shabby for some downhill.

Dont remember how I used to get there, but one called man hill is about a 1000m downhill. Thats fairly brutal on an XC bike, would guess a dh bike would rip it up down there!
