My chain came off my city fly twice!

I did use to run that chain a bit on the loose side but I never though it was that loose. We also found out the whole sprocket would rock side to side, so we think the cush drives needed replacing.

Not sure on the price but it could be worth going for a good chain this time?

Once mid corner with a pillion eh? Razz

Mine came off the RS50 once, my new chain was on order, and I took a link out of the old one to allow myself a bit more adjustment (bad idea I know, but hey). Went green laning and it jumped off pulling out of a large rutt.

Look closely at this pic:

https://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w215/impreza_2007/DSC00406.jpg

I've also had a split link fail on the Senda, which made a mess of the sprocket guard.

Not necessarily any. It may be that your motor won't have enough power to accelerate the bike in top gear, so it'll never rev out and you'll actually end up going slower. Unless you can find something to slip stream of course.

You can't just say "it will go Xmph faster", as Big_ham said, it may even make it go slower if the engine can't produce enough power to redline with the bigger sprocket.

There are too many variables to give you a hard and fast rule to be honest, the internal gear box ratios and the size of the current sprockets will affect it.

To be honest the best thing you can do is when you order your new C&S, order a spare front sprocket 1 tooth down. A front sprocket should only cost you about £15 extra anyway. If it works happy days, if it doesn't rev out put the standard one back on and save up for a bigger bike.

Yes, it's altering the final drive, so 7k at 50 mph currently, if you add a sprocket at the front it'll do 60mph at 7k for example.

It will accelerate more slowly though.

No offense, but I don't personally think you'd get more than 65 out of a Hyosung 125. Speedo is probably out.

Bear in mind that GPS measurements arent accurate in themselves, especially if its a GPS chip in, eg, mobile phone. I don't know what standered is mine, but I recommend clicking the "Spell Check" button before posting, would make it more readable!
