600 K3, 9k miles, FSH £2600 from a dealer?

On Parker's it gives £1905 for independent dealer.

Having trouble finding an unfaired one (K1-K3) in black for much less.

Cheers,

Dave

You could get a lot more bike for your money, I got a 6 month old Speed Four with 3200miles for 3k which is a much better bike IMO.

Did look at the speed four - what d'you think it would be like as a first proper bike (after a 125) ? I'd also either have to get it (or pretend that it is) restricted to 33bhp..

Do you think the hornet rides much better Big_ham? I always thought they were pretty similar but prefer the bandit's looks.

Cheers

Mine was restricted, it would still hit 110 (indicated) Plus the restriction only costs £60 from triumph (inc fitting). I have ridden a k1 and a k6 bandit neither of which where a patch on the speed four they are 40kg heavier and 20bhp down on the S4.

BTW only gays ride hornets Wink

I do think the hornet rides much better yes, the hornet puts out around 90 bhp and weights around 190, compared to the Bandit's 70bhp and 200ish kg.

I think the Speed Four and the Hornet are more closely matched. The Bandit is a work horse, whereas the Hornet and Speed Four can do the commuting thing, but can also be razzed at the weekend.

Prefer a naked bike tbh. Having never gone fast enough yet to need wind protection I think I'll wait until that happens before getting it!

Cheers tho.

Also just checked some insurance:

bandit £200
speed four £300
hornet £330

all tpo.

That's because Blandits are worth comparitively less than similar year hornets and speed fours.

It's your choice at the end of the day though.

Yeah I'm still keen on the bandit based on looks but think I'll have a seat on a hornet and speed four to see what I think.

Cheers

Having a bandit 600 mk1 myself, i would highly recommend one. the myths that they dont handle are completely untrue. but that could be due to the fact i have put tl1000 forks on. they are a brilliant, cheap, bike. get the bandit Laughing

the bandit handles fine unless you compare it to other bikes of the same price that handle better

I sold my K4 Bandit with only 6,000 miles on the clock last year for £2000.

fair enough. I don't think i'd change my mind based on test rides tbh given that I much prefer the bandit on looks.

Also I'm sure all of them will feel amazing compared to my 125..

Also I'm an idiot how do you make it say "Colin1 wrote:" instead of "Quote:"

well lets face it, there are loads of unfaired bikes for £2k that will handle better than a bandit

but if the man is buying on looks, doesnt want to do test rides and he likes the look of the bandit, it doesnt matter how it rides really does it

its not that a bandit is a bad bike, its just that there are others that are better

to be fair this thread was him asking about bandits not other bikes

ebay is a good place to get a feel for prices

you can look up bandits on there and set it so you are only looking at ones within 30 miles of your postcode
