An oldie but a goodie.

I wear a Black visor when the weather permits it and I carry a clear one to swap.

Just wondered what everyone else did. I apologize if this has been done recently.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get a new visor (black) before the summer gets under way. Current one has seen better days!

Got an illegal tint that I'll wear when it's bright, a legal one that I wear most of the time and a clear one that I hardly ever use.

I find the legal tint is quite good at night when it's 'town' dark - ie. plenty of streetlights as it actually cuts a lot of the glare from oncoming vehicles. Hit the proper 'country' dark, it's time for the clear one.

I use a light reactive visor insert at the mo, which is ok but doesn't really go dark enough. The old lazer had a built in dark visor, which was nice but again wasn't dark enough.

I don't do brightness. Not at all.

I use a black (illegal) visor whenever it's sunny. I also have one of those light reactive visor inserts in my other visor. It's not too bad, it cuts down a good deal of glare

Not road legal though I don't think.

I had gold inserts in last year to match my helmet. Cool

Probably get them again this year, it's just a pain getting them cut to fit but it does look cool. All gold! Twisted Evil

I used to use a light reactive insert, but it came unstuck. Sad

I'm just squint when it gets sunny now. Laughing

I have a cursed iridium visor.

Every time I put it on it goes from really sunny to raining the second I step out the door. It's happened every single day so far. Evil or Very Mad

I do the same, as does M.
Has anyone ever been pulled over purely for a tinted visor? And would the fact that you carry the standard clear one with you make a difference to the police attitude?

I've never been stopped for wearing a black visor, I do try to be sensible though. I ride past a Police station every day to and from work and haven't had any hassle, yet.

Would have to ge a right arsehole of a cop to do you in daylight for a dark visor especially if you're carrying a clear one.

The one time I got pulled over the copper commented on my visor insert saying"Did you not see on the packaging it said they were illegal," to which I replied "No officer I just put it in last night and the packaging says it is the 'legal alternative' to a tinted visor."

I have never been pulled for wearing my black visor, but I do try to be sensible with it. For instance, when I go to the football on a Saturday I tend not to wear it as there are lots and lots of traffic police about Shifty

A legal tinted visor will allow in 50% of the available light whereas an illegal one only allows in 20%.

A legal one is more like a smoke tint as opposed to being black, but most importantly the legal one is stamped BS4110 XA, YA or ZA.

No BS stamp then it is illegal!

I use a hyperoptics visor insert for the time being, it cuts down the glare but as said, it doesn't cut down on the glare enough. Black one, come summertime Smile.
