my best bet is to take it into to a garage and ask if they could just see whats wrong with it, i am sure it wont cost a lot to let them look at it.

It would probably cost as much in labour as it would for parts, so if you're not confident in your mechanical abilities, but can afford it, take it to a garage.

That said, there is something about riding a bike that you've made the effort to fix it yourself. Not just the cost saving, but knowing that it's done properly, the understanding you gain and the feeling of accomplishment you get makes for appreciating your ride more, imho.

And so long as you have a reasonably good tool kit, it's really not that difficult. See if you can find a manual to see what's involved, and decide from there.

HTH.

If it's only the top end then I'd find a mate who knows what they're doing, or just read up a little on tinterweb, order the new top end yourself and fit it yourself, it's not a huge job.

maybe visit 125sportsbikes.com for some help, but i own a cagiva planet (same engine as mito) and well now after doing a few the top end rebuilds are ok to do.

if you need parts look on the web for mito mondo and phone him up, his suberb and will be able to help if u have any questions as well.

the main parts list would only consist of top end gasket set and a piston, but u would need to find out if its a dome or flat top, but rob should be able to tell you this from the model of bike your have.

but apart from that i would say have a go yourself, get a guide from the website i have said and it shall tell you step by step on what u need to do to do a top end re-build, and if you did have any questions, just ask on the forums.

cheers
matt
