If some of you have ever scoured eBay for carbon parts for your bike you may have come across parts that are very cheap but are in other countries so kinda put you off.

I went for it, Sniped a set of full carbon fibre frame protectors for my K7, for a sum of 75 quid. now bare in mind no other company makes this product at all, and if they did you'd expect to pay 150-250.

Paid up and got a friendly eMail from Boris saying that it would be with me in 7 days, not bad for a company based in Slovenia. A week later and they're here, opening the box I was shitting myself in case they were broken, poor quality, or poor weave.

results.... perfect, faultless. weave is perfect, no overlaying, no broken/bodged parts, no bodges using varnish, and the rear enforced with Kevlar.

I'll fit them either tomorrow or Saturday so i'll keep you posted.

If your interested then is shop is https://stores.ebay.co.uk/PRO-FIBER-CARBON-COMPONENTS

he does literally everything, including full carbon fairings.

sorry for babbling on, just excited about receiving them Very Happy

Can someone just explain the point of carbon fibre bike parts to a noob please.

Are they for..

- Weight reduction?
- Increased strength?
- Protection?
- Aesthetics?

Any 1 or all of the above depending what it is and where you put it.

lllN30lll's are a mixture of protection and aesthetics.

Mainly weight/aesthetics.

Strength can't be guaranteed as the parts could easily be made from waste/out of spec fibre and hence a lower price.

aah ok.

So you can get carbon firbe parts for places where there is normally just metal (protection, aesthetics)

But you can also get them to replace plastic parts (weight, strength, aesthetics)

Gonna be expensive if you scratch em though surely?
