So I got the Mum to pick up some 75w-90 transmission from Halfrauds and picked me up after getting my GCSE Results.

Drained it fully as I also got her to buy me a spanner set.

Filled it up and started it on the paddock stand.

It went through all of the gears with no noise to my disbelief.

I've given it a good de-greasing courtesy of Holts Motorbike De-greaser and came up lovely.

I really dislike it with all this polish shit as it smears when you touch it.

I've got a video and some pictures I'll get up later Thumbs Up

Has the noise gone just because you are using very thick oil? If you replaced it for 10W30 (which I assume the RS50 would use) then the noise would probably come back.

I'd be very suprised if that was the oil it was supposed to have. Scooters have very thick oil such as that but both my bikes require 10W30 (I use 10W40 though).

Haynes says 10w40 for the AM6 engine'd RS50s, not sure on the new ones.

What the hell are you lot on about?

I read my service manual.

It said Agip 75W-90 Gearbox Oil.

So I got the same oil but a different brand and it works.

I checked the drained oil and magnetic drain plug and there are no more fillings in the oil than it shows. Confused

Very lucky, when I ran my NSR out of oil (I know I'm a tit) I wrecked the gear box, took me forever to rebuild the engine, but to be fair its now even better than before Very Happy.

I was out on it for 3 hours yesterday.

It's running better and the gears feel smoother.

Oil is leaking again from the bottom drain point so I'm going to order a new sealant washer.

Nothing to me suggests that there is any damage.

No more metallic in the drained oil than the Haynes Manual Suggests.

It still kills my mates ped.

And the gears feel smoother.

I think I am fucking lucky Thumbs Up
