I have just bought the model above and Im new to geared bikes, having only ever owned mopeds.

I want to know how to change the carb jets, people say this will increase performance. Any highly technical answers will go straight over my head so please keep it simple. Sorry about my lack of knowledge Rolling Eyes but i see this as the place to start!

Also what exact honda engine is the Jialing version a re-make of?

Thanks All

Keep it simple you say ?
Ok then. No, It won't increase performance.
60/65mph is the most you will ever get out a 4stroke 125.

Yeah thats the fastest ive got out of it.

Im not too bothered about top end, i just want to keep up with traffic after having a 49cc moped for a year.

Is there anything you can do to improve performance?

Im not as bad technically as I make out. So go into some detail. Oh and it backfires whenever I slow down, what could that be?

Thanks for your help.

No, you could make it accelerate quicker thats about it, but you would lose top end speed.
You do this by fitting a smaller front sprocket, or larger rear.
Backfiring, well depends how bad it is, could possibly be the mixture or timing, most bikes do pop a bit if the revs get high enough when you drop it down a gear.
Have you changed the exhaust of fiddled with the Air filter at all ?
You could also have a slight leak in the exhaust system. Check for a proper seal where the end can attaches to the exhaust down pipe, and also check where the down pipe attaches to the cylinder head.

hi,
having previously owned a couple of chinese 4t's, i found the only decent modification was to fit a larger main jet, conoical air filter & adjust the mixture.
pulled away better, icreased top speed (marginally) & made it a loud louder, lol.
common mod amongst members of the chinese bike forum.
worthwhile having a look.
cheers,
GAZ
