It felt like it was my first time on it again.got home at about 5pm Very Happy
is this because i have only been riding for 2 months and still kinda new or does anyone get that feeling Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Been 6 months for me and I had to take the bike with me on holiday rather than go up on the train or share a car with someone. Thankfully my other half is feeling the same way about being a pillion passenger. Thumbs Up I don't have to persuade her anymore.

When I went away for 2 weeks I couldn't wait to get back to my bike. Took me a while to get back into it and start cornering quick again though. Don't know how fair weather bikers cope not riding for months.

dont worry it isnt just you.

i went away when i had my first bike, probably about 18 months ago and i was lying by the pool and could feel something on my neck and back, then my hands and wrists - it felt like putting my jacket and gloves on...freaked me out all week, but when i got home, actually putting them on to go out again felt good Cool

i haven't been away since ...
(but thats cos of not wanting ot go away with my parents, not really having friends i want to go away with, splitting up with my girlfriend after booking a holiday, and just generally little money to go away anyway)
so for me ... its a bike tour next Razz

I been riding close to three years now, and im the same. I look forward to work only because of the ride there and I was on holiday recently in states and everytime I hit a freeway there all I kept thinking was how nice it would be to cruise on the open road there!

It's a addiction!! I just came back from taking the dog on a midnight walk and stared at my bike outside my place thinking "tomorrow is deffo going to be me and bike alone time" Smile

I really thought I'd be a fair weather biker and only taxed my bike for 6 months, but the thought of not riding for a week is too much, so I will be taxing for 12 months from now on. I'm turning bike-mad and if not on my bike and in the car stuck in traffic, I stare longingly as bikes go by.

I hadn't been out for a week because of dreadful weather and I dreamt about the bike and realised I didn't actually know whether it was still in the garage - had to go out and check! Worst one yet is putting it away after a great days ride out and talking to it Embarassed even caught my self saying goodnight!! Rolling Eyes

Not sad.

I think most enthusiasts (of my age at least) probably watched too much Champion The Wonder Horse as kids.

As it's not the most practical thing to own a horse for most (you can't exactly stick them in the shed/garage when not in use) it's just a classic case of displacement.

I've only been riding seriously since March; I now find when I'm putting bike away, I'm wondering about the next time I'll be out on it again.

I deliberately avoid conversations about bikes with people at work, non-biking friends, etc. I'll start blabbering on about bikes too much otherwise. BCF and a couple of other forums are where I chat about bikes, without, hopefully, boring anyone to death half as much.

I've been riding for 9 years now and on occasion, have got a little lost with the bikes I've owned and how I enjoy riding them. Having access to a couple of bikes that suit different moods/interests has brought me back inline with the different aspects of biking I find enjoyable:

Tinkering/cleaning/modifying/sunny Sunday cruising: NC30
Rider's tool/skills advancement/commuter bike: 600RR8
Care/Stress/Money free back road plodding/scenery enjoying riding: CG

It's been okay I suppose, but I haven't got anything else to compare it to. I can certainly get it up to 50 but anything past that is a struggle. A friend of mine said it still pulled more than his 50cc ped when he went pillion with me. Just adjust the pre-load in the rear shocks to stiffen them up a bit. I have them at 3/5 or 4/5, depending on weight of passenger. 2/5 is the default for solo riding. Also get your rear tyre pressure up to 41psi. The steering is wobbly/light at low speeds but that's the same for most bikes I'd imagine. It still corners well.

I've been riding for 5 years. Recently acquired a car and now the bike has sat in the yard, looking like a waste of space.

I've never been mad about bikes, more fun than a car, but more expensive and cold and impractical to use full-time.

Thinking of getting rid of the bike and getting something for tearing up the countryside in, just like a 125, but an out and out toy.

I think about riding all day, possibly more than i think of my loved ones, lie the guy above said, once its in your blood you are FUCKED!

so far i havent ridden a bike for 4 months, and i know i won`t make it past next summer.

Even on the small bikes like the 50's all the way yo the litre eaters.
the weird feeling on a bike is strangely unique. i hate it when its raining so no mates are out, so i deciede im going to just brush up on some wet riding skills.

I couldn't wait to get home from my holiday to get the bike out again, i even resorted to hiring a bike whilst on holiday. I did manage to take my bike with me though, I have a largish picture of him tattooed on my back Laughing It became a talking point while I was propping the bar up in my bikini.

My poor bikes broken and sat in my back garden waiting for an insurance man to come round tomorrow and see if it can be fixe dor written off.
Iv ealready got a full list of things that need reapiring / checking on it if its going to be fixed, and if its written off, ive got a list of 3 or 4 bikes that i intend to replace it with as well as some choice examples ive seen on autotrader / ebay.
Ive also got a shortlist for helmets and jackets that im gonna get as soon as i get the claim through.
Guess what ive been doing this week while not riding Smile
I cant fvcking wait untill i see this guy tomorrow so i can start getting stuff sorted out and get myself a bike sorted.
People that dont have bikes might think its sad, but anyone that ever caught the bug is thinking exactly the same as you are Smile

Once biking is in the blood you will never be able to walk away from it forever. My boss doesn't understand me, he just thinks I am mad.
