Racing finally got underway in the MGP just over six hours later than scheduled after bad weather and low cloud on the mountain section delayed the start of the first days racing.

The first race away was the Newcomers, which due to delays and poor weather was reduced from four to two laps. Conditions around the 37.75 mile course were far from perfect with wet roads and very restricted visibility due to mist on the mountain. Two local riders took the honours when the Newcomers "A" Class was won by Ryan Kneen, and the Newcomers "C" Class was won by his brother Daniel.

Next race away was the Senior Classic, again over a reduced distance of three laps. Irishman Ryan Farquar riding a Paton 500 took the chequered flag for the second year in a row.

Weather has been appalling throughout practice week with torrential rain and poor visibility, fingers crossed for better weather for the remainder of race week.

Went over 2 weeks ago for 5 days, first time I'd ever been, and we were camping...it rained solidly for all but one one day, decided it was a lovely place, but only saw a little of the island....hopefully be back next year.

How busy is the GP compared to the TT? Do the prices still rise the same?

Beer prices rise about 7 times a year here. (so does Landscapers rates to keep in line Laughing )

TT's busier than MGP.

There's still a good turn out though, noticably Classics are inforce. Thumbs Up

Wotcha.

Ah - I seem to remember that from last year.
Paton 500

I should have been on the Isle of Man this week . . . . . but sadly, I've had to give it a miss this year.
