Looked on Google but can't find much info.

I know they're '1%ers' but that's about it. Just wanted to find out for someone I know, really. (His business is nothing to do with me, but basically he's got himself into a bit of trouble with them...alledgedly. For all I know he may be talking complete and utter cock.)

My mate was in with them in the 70's. Some of the initiation rites amounted to little more than orgies. I shall have a word with him when I next see him.

Stay away, thats the best advice i can give you Thumbs Up
There was some trouble a year or two back with them and the band 'black label society'. Basically they took offence to people wearing bls t-shirts and decided to go around manchester on the day of a gig threatening people - mostly kids...

Yeah, I read about that, apparently the band merch was made to look like the colours of a motorcycle club or something and they thought it was another club on their turf. You'd think the misunderstanding could've been worked out, but that's obviously not the way they operate.

Yep, some of the t shirts have designs that look like back patches.
As you said the slaves thought it was another club on their turf so reacted violently. Things were tried to be resolved, but they werent having any of it.
When bls played the nia last year they put a statement out asking fans not to wear any band merchandise at all Confused

It was not just shirts, the band were selling embroidered patches with rockers to sew on leathers. The 1% community quite rightly objected and removed a few patches from fans at gigs. The press then blew the story up. IMHO it was a cynical attempt by the band to get publicity at the expense of their fan-base.

I can see why the clubs didnt like the patches, and i personally wont wear anything that might get the gangs blood up.
What i didnt like seeing in manchester were 14 year old kids getting threatened with violence, and in some cases having the threats carried out.
The press might have blown it up a little, but i can say from seeing it with my own eyes it wasnt pretty

I would strongly suggest that if your mate has got himself into trouble with them that he make every effort to get out of trouble with them in as respectful a manner as possible at the earliest juncture.

That is all.

Thing is, in whatever situation ... he has to really just front up and speak to the guy he's alleged to have upset.
Then he'll know.

The point that the guy's a 1%er shouldn't make a difference (but everybody thinks it does).

But then, that doesn't necessarily mean grovel.

Depends what he's done, innit - and that can only be ascertained by talkin' to the guy he's allegedly offended.

Sometimes respect is one of them things that is achieved when you stand up like a man and give your side of the story, whether its with your dad, a 1%er, or the guy next door whose window you broke with your cricket ball ... its about being accountable for your words and actions, innit.

And running round town going "Ooooooh, what've I done! What've I done! I've got to leave town or get plastic surgery" is really a pretty pathetic way to deal with it. Then all EVERYBODY knows what he might've (allegedly) done, and everybody also knows you're not talking to the guy you've upset, but just running round like a headless chicken making a big issue out of it.

Other times ... its the grovelling and promising never to do it again that works Laughing

(although personally even if I accept an apology from grovelling apologisers, I never *really* forgive them ... it just makes me think they are weak).

Unfortunately it was kids that knew no better that got caught up in this grief. The band overstepped the mark by cynically trying to exploit the emblems that are the identity of the patch clubs for financial gain. The clubs just retained their ownership of those same symbols in the way they always do.
I am not actually saying that it is right that the 1%ers act like this but it is totally predictable that they will act like this. great shame it was kids that got the hassle rather than the band and its agents.

Well, I found the website of the (German) Satan's Slaves, but there was nothing on it Laughing

I should probably point out at this point that he's not a 'mate' as such, just someone I happen to know, I just wanted to find out how much shit he is in.

...quite a lot, apparently. Neutral

Done a deal, and then failed to keep his end of the agreement.

Or so I hear.

He really isn't a mate, he's a bit of an idiot and to be honest I don't have a lot of time for him. My reaction when I heard about this was somewhere between 'mildly amused' and 'oh shit!' Very Happy

Oh well, either he'll get a slap, or he won't.
*shrugs*

I'm still laffing about you Googling the Slaves to try and find the answer, bless ya.

Perhaps all organisations (not just BP clubs) should have very informative websites that includes a FAQs section about "How to Deal with Us When You Have Made Us Cross".

* The Tax Dept: If you annoy us, we're going to lose your file for eight years, and continue to send you more statements charging you even more interest, in the meantime.

* Moroccan Taxi Drivers Association: If you cut us up, we're going to come round and let our tree-climbing goats poo on your car.

* Tripe and Onions Appreciation Society: If you upset us and call us names, we're going to tie you to a tree in the woods and pelt you with Curried Tripe.

* Morris Dancers: If you make us cross, we're going to come after you with ribboned sticks.

One of my close friends was the president of the Longriders up this way before he passed it over, some of the stories I have had from him about what they make you do as a prospect were unreal and the fact these people do it amazes me when you know how fookin hard some of them are!

Each to their own I guess, I am happy being a power ranger to them Very Happy

cheers

leigh Very Happy
