It really does depend what you're looking for.

Sports 600?
v-twin?
harley?

Should be able to get a TL, definitely a TL-S. I'd still go for the GSXR, based on what you say, not being a fan of twins.

If a nice looking 'clean' bike is also important, consider the TRX850 and Ducati SS series.

Daytonas are generally a bit overpriced for what they are, to my mind.
Also consider a ZX9R, fireblade, thunderace etc.

What I used to do was have a look in Biketrader, tap in your price options and see what comes up.

Hence my suggestion. There's so many bikes you can buy for £2k, won't it be worthwhile to have a look to see what kinda bike you're after, then you can be a little more specific to specified owners?

if you look hard-ish you should be able to pick up a GSXR K1 for that sort of price.

i do a 30 mile round trip commute with no problems on a GSXR...
the older ones are bigger and more comfortable.

I should hope you can. That's commuting distance for a moped.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Could get a nice 900ssie Duke for £2k easy if you want a twin. But its going to be slower in a straight line than what you already have, as with most twins.
