Hiya,
Erm.. its good but down on power! Sad
Fireblade airbox didn't fit under 600 tank so has been cut down, LOADS! On the dyno, the air/fuel ratio is CRAP and it's only giving 111bhp back at the ugly end!
When I first dyno'd it, only 104bhp!!! Then I took the front pipes OFF the airbox and straight way an extra 7 ponies!
If I can get even more air in, I should be up nearer to 'normal' blade outputs.
Still, bloody funny lining up next to another bike at the lights and them thinkin' you're just a 600! Cool
Y'can see the bike and the dyno charts on me webpage.

As for you Tin.... we'll see who's faster to the track! Wink
YOU, ME, Castle Combe - next available track day! (And if you beat me, I'll never talk to you again!) Wink

A BIT further????
Castle Combe is like ten miles from me front door!
But if Tin's up for it....

Y'see the little sod beat me at karting and I kinda need to put the 'child' in his place! Wink

I've done 'Combe before so have the (much needed) advantage!
But that was on the 996, not a soogy suspensioned CBR! Sad

Why don't you come to Combe? Wanna see the new Kwak on the move!

Last time (and first time Smile) at snetterton I was on a KR1S, so it may be a little different on a bike with over twice the power Smile

Hmm.. a thought... if you two were up for it, we could maybe hire a van (assuming one of you doesn't mind driving Confused ).
We'd be going up the day before, whatever and staying at a B&B (hopefully the same one as before, £17 pppn, really tasty breakfast Smile )

Do you know if castle combe has restrictive noise limits? While the 9's not as loud as a storm with no cans,it does have a full 'povic system, so it's not /that/ quiet either Smile
I've always seen them advertised as 'road legal' nosie levels Confused

OK, after three...hands up those who have a driving licence? _o/ Laughing

I would deffo be up for some track days in the upcoming summer, but there's too much going on (in my mind) at the moment for me to actually make any promises...

Embarassingly.. Although in me 30's (OLD GIT!), I've not actually tried a car. Not even in a car park! Embarassed
Tin mate, can I have a go in yer Merc? Smile

And unfortunately, Castle Combe DOES have noise restriction... I think last season was 105db! The duke SCRAPED through with 104.5 on STOCK cans!
My Gixxer with Akro registered 118!! Twisted Evil

They're pretty strict but can't you get stock stuff for the track?

Soz, thought you/tin'd mentioned driving at some point.
I am only just looking at doing mine/getting a car... so I can take the minimoto to tracks Smile

The kwak was bought as a race bike, allthough they were'nt originally included, the bloke I got it off found some stock header pipes he gave to me... only other can I got is a Micron for the 'povic headers though... so not very quiet either Confused

Bet he probably found them and downloaded them in the first place. I know that there is stuff I have done which now regularly turns up on Ebay (and that cost me £200 to get scanned in from microfiche)

Welcome back by the way

All the best

Hi

There are people around who will make custom exhausts. Ask one of them, telling them what you want (ie one quiet enough to get through the noise tests at the track) and they should be able to help

All the best

I'm sure the companies that produced them wouldn't be happy to know that someone is selling scans on ebay Smile

Yep, too true. Bit dodgy making a profit from them. Honda got a bit arsey with Motofiche over the stuff on there and forced them to take it down

All the best

Hello Chills... Very Happy

No1 Priority question....what happened to your Ducati?? ....do you still have it???

...And you sooo dont look 30. omg

I would offer to drive your van for you. (as long as you didnt mind my irratic driving, and all your bikes (...and mine Confused...) flinging around in the back! Smile
But 6th May is bad timing. In the heat of Uni, and its final slog! Smile

....oowwww..only 33 working days to go! \o/

Just call me Grandad!

G, Viper, I'll have to get back to you re: Snetterton... Prob not worth it for me. I'm very much still learning and Combe is SO handy for me...
Kinda depends on Tin going though so maybe if you nag him enough? Wink

NAG @ tin :p
V won't be able to make this time Sad
Though luke is coming I believe... as is my flate mate and probably others.
I still didn't really get to learn snetterton well, but there aren't /that/ many corners (well, compared to Cadwell etc) so it's not so bad.

If tin was interested in driving, there might be the possibility of a Van from Cardiff, though we could only reasonably fit three bikes in it.

I wouldn't mind driving...hmm...let's have a look:

1.) ZX9R
2.) R6
3.) Crappy CBR 6/9 Thing

No space for my bike, what a shame...I guess that I'll have to make do with filming the carnage Twisted Evil

Castle Combe is much closer to you (and us) than Snetterton, which means less distance for the RAC van to go...and Frenchay is a top-class hospital...Razz

Now if it weren't for those pesky residents and their noise levels Evil or Very Mad

I have the answer!

We get zimm to ride his storm around local streets with no cans on! This will totally distract everyone's attention form a few *slightly* loud race cans Smile

So, where you from then Chills, I'm only 5 miles from Caslte Coomb, so that makes you 15 miles form me max!
Track days for bike start this Wednesday (fully booked), and are then every other Wed untill mid Oct. The price is £115 a day for each rider, and yes they do have a noise limit (which they stick to!)

Yeah, I remember your place.. you ARE certainly a lot nearer than me, I went past the track on the way there.
