Although it's just out of shot, there's a primary school on my left and a kitten sanctuary on the right.

Cool

tried to, although the general consensus is that's is prolly fubarred so would be cheaper to buy a complete set of clocks off eBay. As you can see, all the mounting points are all broken so this wouldn't be a bad thing.

how easy is it to fiddle the mileage?

what is the ethical consensus on doing this? It not on, I wouldn've thought.

I'm still trying to work out the finer points. Most of the electrics would be easy, just build a relay board and link that into the existing loom so the PC would know what things like indicators and lights are doing.

Tacho and speedo would be the hard ones, I'd prolly have to take a direct output off the pulse generator and use logic to determine the RPM, whilst as the speedo on an RVF is gear-driven so some sort of opto-encoder (like how your mouse works) to work out what that is doing.

Lots of R&D, but hey, I love a challenge!

Thumbs Up

If he's got good history with the bike and it sounds sweet id leave well enough alone, Nothing worse than buying a bike and finding someone has spun the clock back by half its easy enough to check mileage with old mot's anyway or with vosa.

knocking the clockback means all the service history and old mot's are useless, unless you get a new book with some moody stamps and fake mot certificates.

If im offered a bike with low miles for its age i always check the mot's if the old ones arn't available i offer bottom dollar as the mileage can't be varified there and then so can't realy be used as a selling point.
