I got away with it twice, and was subject to the opening seconds of a vicious beating till somebody said hold on its not him...

I don't mean it like that , I mean will innocent people get subject to abuse and or injury due to mistaken identity? .

In the past I have been mistaken for somebody else and a vicious beating ensued but suddenly stopped when they realised it was the wrong person....

Sort of like when the News of the world published names and addresses of Paedophiles, Paedotricians were quaking in their boots.
