If I was to take a big bike for a spin.

I've ridden big bikes before but now it's getting closer to march when I can do it legally I'm wondering about the legal ramifications.

Say in theory someone took their dads bike for a spin, got pulled and found out for being 16 on a provisional, and claimed to have stolen the bike, as his father didn't know, what would happen to sasid 16 year old?

No license, no insurance.

A very painful mixture of bans, fines and points which will haunt you for years to come. If you get caught that is.

er..you`d get fucked over bigtime.
Not only would you get hit for no licence or insurance...you`d get slapped with a TWOC/theft of a motor vehicle aswell.
Is it really worth doing?....wait till march.

I knew I would be in trouble but not how much.

I can't comment on myself but I have an identical twin who went for a lovely ride a second ago Mr. Green

No pics, sorry, had already gone out.

You'd be a fool.

3 years ago i sold my scooter, the guy test rode it up the housing estate and back down again without my permission, he sat on it and took off just joking around (I new him so wasn't worried, but shouldn't have left keys in ignition).

He was fully kitted, bike jacket, gloves & helmet.

He came back down (I was watching so I know he didn't go onto the road) when he got back 10seconds later a Police car rolls up.. asks him for details ect, i almost got banned for apperently letting him on it even tho I didn't give him permission, apperently I should have restrained him from doing so.

I got off luckily, don't do it..

Technically if your father covers for you then he is liable for some criminal charges.

Otherwise it's Taking Without Consent, Riding without a licence and Riding without insurance.

When I was younger I was a twat too, however I was damn lucky, especially as I didn't realise the gravity of the situation I was placing myself and other roadusers in.

If you get caught doing it you will be fucked royally.

IMO that's lack of respect for your father and his things.... I would never dream of taking my dads bike and going for a 'tinker' up the road on it.

If you get caught mate.. Just remember how badly the shit will screw you over, Then you will be waiting even longer to get on a bike of your own Smile

I would love to ride my dads bike again, but If I took it without him knowing he would honestly kick the fuck out of me Laughing

I'm gonna give it a go when my restriction is up 10 days and counting Laughing

If my Dad had a bike when I was a kid, he wouldn't have had to worry about me 'borrowing' it. I've got too much respect for my old man for that!

Still, that probably wouldn't stop him from draining all of the petrol out of it in case I decided to take it.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

And talking of respect for stuff, this is the man that tryed to teach my cousin who had never ridden before to race on my RM250 without asking, he ended up buying me some new plastic after my cus binned it Rolling Eyes

Sure, we all understand the temptation. No one's saying you're wrong to want to ride the bike, we're just saying you're an idiot if you actually do.

Everybody has, But it isn't the point. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but you ride a 50 i think. The difference between the 50 and 750 power will be immense. I think its kinda stupid that you went on it but that was your choice and non of us could of made a difference no matter what we said lol.
