Aside from all the controversy about weather these guys are gonna kill us all I really can't wait to see the results of this.

This is what I would love to do if I was clever enough work at a place like that uncovering the mysteries of the universe, and blowing shit up Wink

These fvcking arseholes spend this kind of money on something that's of no interest to anyone but themselves, never mind of any practical use to anyone else, when we desperately need free clean energy. How about they pour the money and expertise into zero-point energy? Who gives a fvcking rats arse how the universe was started? That's like going on a bus from manchester to london and giving a hoot about how the bus was made.

I don't quite see the point of the experiment, but the world as we know it ending might not be such a bad thing.

A £4.4 billion, 17 mile long particle accelerator is quite a machine. I bet the lights are going to dim in New Zealand.

Err, thread below? lol.

Also, it's a taurus shape, which means once the twats are finished with it, it can be used for plasma energy research, one of the only viable solutions available but in need of more research.

The UK funded it Neutral

Why do we care what happened billions of years ago when our country is in our worst economical state for 60 years.

We care to much about the past. I could understand if it was going to aid medical research but it isn't.

Confused

Oops missed the other thread, why you say? Because we can, I'm fairly sure the results of this will lead on to serveral new discoveries.

Why did we go to the moon? Because it was there, if we hadn't of had the space race technology would be years behind what it is now.

I for one definately care ware we came from, and Hetz I am the sort of person who would care how the bus worked and probably would think about it on the journey.

They already do Laughing

They're always moaning down there about how the lakes are too low, and they're always grumping about the threat of power-cuts throughout winter.

I must say, I'm quite looking forward to being vapourised instantly.
I'm guessing it might be pointless bothering to put mascara on that morning?

I have recently come into contact with aliens (the good ones, who genetically engineered us a few millenia ago). I am in negotiations with them, which if fruitful will definitely benefit mankind. It's fraught with difficulties though, and not a little danger, because the bad aliens don't like it. There's a kind of 'gentleman's agreement' that neither side will attempt to change the staus-quo, so please keep my revelation a bit schtum, eh?

Its Ok because we invented the board with a nail in it. Soon, we will make bigger boards, and bigger nails... and destroy one another!

Nothing bad will happen from what they're wanting to do at the Large Hadron Collider. It's not really too much different from large experiments done at other colliders.

All a big fuss about nothing.

I might put some on too, I might never get the chance again...

Maybe ask Shaun if he wants to go for a ride again, might change his tune if he knew the world was going to end...

If the world did end, we'd be going out with a bang. As for him coming out? I think we all suspected, so no bangs or surprises there really... Laughing

It's not their job to. Whoever granted the money for that shit has a responsibility to help sort out the Economy. Being 16 Fnatic doesn't exactly have much opportunity to.

What knowledge do you have? Considering you think the LHC is "just for fun", i'd assume not much. Smile

I think it is truely AMAZING!

I love all stuff to do with space and history of where we came from, evolution and the big bang it amazes me.

There is a huge point to this experiment, if we can work out how the world was started then we can learn how to stop it from ending or how to slow down the rate of "global warming", which is just another natural climate change and nothing to do with humanity itself.

What was the point in trying to fly? It wasn't going to aid health, it was extremely dangerous and there was no need for it....we could all ready travel the world by sea.

Scientists that thrive off learning and experimenting about the past are the ones that bring us the future, they are the ones that learn how to make electricty conduct through paper thin plastic and they're also the ones that can ensure your children and their children safety in the world for the future.

Pfffft. Who needs a massive 17-mile long machine to create black holes when all you really need is a '98 R1's engine?
