With my fucking disk lock on Shocked
Felt like such an idiot and whilst I fell on the left hand side, which caused no damage, I broke a little bit out of the RHS fairing with my boot. I feel like I'm slowly destroying my bike... argh.

Anyone else managed this? Laughing

I'm just glad I'm making all these mistakes on a relatively inexpensive bike.

You should buy one of these things that you attach to your lock and goes on your break leaver. Only a couple of quid and least you wont forget its on!

Nice one mate Karma
£4.99 is certainly less than these damn fairings are going to cost me, I'lll probably only replace them just before I sell the bike now though.

FFS why pay for something a 1" bit of carb vacuum hose will do the same thing.

Keep the hose on the disc lock key until you use the key to put the disc lock on, then transfer it to the ignition key.
When you get back to the bike after your shop and you go to put your key in the ignition you spot the tube remember the lock is on.
All you do then it put the tube back on the disc lock key for next time.
Also stops the metal part of the key scratching the paint around the ignition switch. Thumbs Up

It happened to a mate of mine not so long ago and the bike fell on his foot.
He was off work for six weeks.

Paddy.

pulled off gently with my disc lock on in Bucharest in fron to of a load of people.

2-up and with full luggage there was an almight clank and the disc lock snapped into 3 pieces. Not sure it would have stopped a thief

Btw my lock was on the rear wheel

Hmmm, I was lucky as I had read lots of threads on here about riding off with disc locks on and I bought a cheap fluro-bungy contraption to make sure I remember it's on...phew!

Seems like it's easily done, so don't feel too bad Wink

I feel cheated.

I know it is bike chat and all but 'pulled off in the middle of town' does not scream disc locks to me.

I had visions of a drunken encounter with some 'lady of horizontal refreshment' in the city centre.

"Pulled off in the middle of town today...."

Surprised you weren't arrested mate...you and c-m who "pulled off gently in Bucharest in front of a load of people"...you've both obviously never heard of exposure laws then! Laughing
