After changing my tyre I have noticed a slight wobble from the bars if I take both hands off at about 50ish. Doesn't sound like a problem but I can feel it 'wanting' to wobble even with both hands on the bars.

Could this be a case of the wheel wanting balancing? Will I have to take the front wheel off again (major pain in the arse)?

Who changed the tyre? They should have properly balanced the wheel after fitting it.

Check the axle-nut and clamps have been properly done up.

Have a good look at it to be sure it's seated on the rim properly too.
There's a circle on the tyre to help show this.

It's definitely seated properly, and the spindle nut and clamps are done up properly too.

IS there a way to balance the wheel without taking it off the bike?

Only if the brakes don't bind even a smidgeon, and the bearings are reeeaaal sweet. Laughing

I had a look earlier and there's one stick-on 10g weight, took that off and the wobble got even worse.

Thinking about buying some weights and sticking 20g in the same place (opposite valve stem). I know it's not advisable to balance a wheel by trial and error but I really can't afford to have it done right now (proper skint) and taking the wheel off will be a pain in the ass as I have no jack or paddock stand.

Also, I did drop it slightly ( Embarassed ) the other day - disklock on, rode off, you know the story.

Could that cause it? I didn't ride the bike much in between getting the new front tyre fitted and doing that, so I'm not sure if it was doing it before or not.

Grr, bloody vehicles eh?

Well, it's more the owner's fault in this case... Razz

There was no visible damage from the drop, just a lot of embarrasment.

Could have messed the bearing up, bent the disk.

Get some mates round and get the front up in the air and spin the wheel.

Yeah get the front wheel off the ground. Get it spinning, check to see if it's true. and that the disk is too. (I suspect it will be).

Then grab the wheel at opposite sides and see if you can get any sideways play.

If you can, the bearing's dead. A knackered bearing feels quite weird to ride on.
