As per the title, considering selling the R6 and going for one of these, as will hopefully be leaving my current job soonish, so the bike will be my only transport. Mostly used around town, and also quite frequently with a pillion.
I've always wanted a single, only one if ridden a little is the newest 690 duke which I enjoyed, but I didn't have much of a test...
How are they on the motorway...is it a no go?
And....will I be crying over the lack of power in the step down....it's over half the horsepower of my R6....
Also...will it be a wheelying beast of doom?!
Cheers!

Keep your R6
I loves it.

i got one of these as a courtesy bike,
good round town
alright 2 up (not as good as the fazer) but didn't squat too far with a pillion
i wouldn't want to do distance on it due to the low power/lack of wind protection
have to plan gear changes before corners cause if you are too high you are going nowhere.
oh and is worryingly easy to bounce it off the limiter in first/second (compared to an IL4) ____________________ "intelligent inattention is preferable to unintelligent tinkering"

Yep, matt06 from here has one.
Its a nice looking bike, ive sat on it and it seems fairly comfy - very upright with wide bars.
Matts is restricted to 33 bhp but it still seems to go ok, he's also put the akropovic cans on which sound rather sexual
Best bet is to pm him, he come on eventually |

Damn, been thinking alot and still can't decide on anything.
If only I could get a superduke fairly cheap...I think I'm most worried about missing cracking open the throttle and flying off into the distance...
But I'm also thinking the lower power might help me to get better at cornering...as I'll need to be hanging onto the speed I've gained alot more....

I know these bikes would be totally unsuited to my day to day ride to work, what with it being 20 miles of motorway, but I still keep looking at 'em. Why can't they do a 70/80bhp version with an optional screen ____________________ '07 Triumph Speed Four

Its a thread about my bike!
Not sure what else to say about the bike.
Defo very good around town and even though you are coming from an R6, the MT does handle pretty damn well. Stock tyres are pretty shit.
I wouldnt want to spend too long on the motorway. I havent got a screen or anything, but the wind protection is pretty bad. Its okay at 60/70, but much more isnt going to be fun.
As for power, for me it was quite weedy. However, I took out the restriction about a month ago and it pulls much more in 1st and 2nd. Spins up very easy in the wet and easy to wheelie just cracking the throttle open. Can get the back end out in corners too, but im not any good at that.
I cant say too much, having only properly ridden about 4 different bikes and the most power I have played with has been about 65bhp. Around town its awesome and its always fun in the country trying to keep up with sportsbikes. Would be cool to see what its like riding with some other guys with the extra power now.
Its funny, because I want to get an R6 sometime soon. I have had this MT for a while now though and its more me getting bored like I would with any bike than a problem with the bike itself.
Probably not said anything that useful, but have any questions I will try and answer them.
Shame you dont ride around with some of us guys around here. Would let you have a blast on it and see what you think. ____________________ Current: MT-10, Bandit, Grom, GPZ500
