Ahhh more nails in the coffin. Nowadays there is more to the operating system world than Microsoft. Since switching to Linux at home I've never looked back. The other half likes it, the kids (age 4 and 5) like the kiddie games and educational stuff on it. Can't remember the last time I used a Windows box. At work we are Mac based, so it's always Unix/Unix like stuff for me. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

And I'm sure when the next version is out people will be scared of it as well, call it terrible but will quietly switch to it when they get round to upgrading their pc's.
I have gone back to using XP since vista and it feels awful in comparison, they've come on leaps and bounds since XP. I laugh when I hear people saying they are switching back.
If you really don't get on with vista then try out linux, its a bit complex but it works well. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

Not only does the article prove anything, it's based on a survey "of over 3000 computers" and they "estimated" the percentage.

Disregarding the article, although twas amusing to read.
If vista is so fantastic, why are they talking very seriously about the so called Windows 7, vista has barely been out five minutes.
I take no interest in operating systems or software side of computers, it annoys me too much. Hard enough trying to keep up with hardware developments, so the above is a genuine question.
XP was super stable when it was released everyone singing its praises (blue screens a thing of the past etc), now, over time, it reverts to the slow decay indicative of all MS operating systems, your computer takes longer to boot up, longer to do everything, more errors etc as crap accumulates, and windows proves to be frail once again.
Vista will do the same in time, they are all one and the same.
Why can't they design a platform and stick with it, not keep inventing the wheel every few years. They have surely had long enough to gauge what people like and don't like to make a decent 'standard'. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

That's the genius of Vista, it's complete lack of consistency and reliability. Some give me no trouble at all, others give me trouble with X but not Y, where another will give me trouble with Y but not X.
It's a steaming pile of shite, and the statistic shown via the link in the OP proves it. MS even admitted they shipped Vista with a semi-functional sound sub-system, and defended their criminally fraudulent action with the excuse that "To fix it would have further delayed Vista's release. We'll patch it later." Still waiting for that particular patch, you lying filth. Supposed to have been done in SP1, but wasn't. Along with a whole bunch of other stuff. How are those NVidia-drivers working out for ya MS? Got that act together yet, or are NVidia users still suffering random BSODs? Rhetorical question, it's all over the fvcking net.
And gee, what was MS' response to the huge numbers of people up-grading from Vista to XP? Anything helpful, or ethical? Nah...they just put up the price of XP by approx 100%. OEM copy of Pro used to be £55. Overnight it went to £115. "That's it guys, we'll price the upgrade out of most peoples' reach."
Low-life scum. Lying, cheating, conniving filth.
My customer, she paid £135 each for five copies of Office 2007. The app was pre-installed by the PC supplier. From master-discs he had to PAY for. Customer gets no copies. Now she's wiped Vista and put on XP...hmm...how's she going to get Office back on? I suppose she could pay the PC supplier to travel 50 miles to re-install it for her. Or maybe download it from the MS website, only to find the card-codes won't work for some reason (been there, done that etc, multiple times in one flavour or another).
So, for £135 what do you get? A card with a code-number on it, so you can un-lock a pre-installed trial-version. And if your OS goes down and you have to reinstall it from scratch..."here's the Office hoops baby! Get running, get jumping, you didn't think you paid £135 per copy for convenience did you?!"
I'm not sure exactly how many MS top-level staff are the sub-human degenerate vermin responsible for this despicable state of affairs, but if they ever get cancer I hope I get to hear about it so I can laugh until I fvcking cry. ____________________ "There's the horizon! I will agree with you that the price for office is criminal, I will never pay for office. I could have paid £20 as a student for it, but even then I decided that was too much..
I would suggest open office, its not amazing but it works and does pretty much everything Microsoft Office does; plus its free .
To be honest only reason I like using windows is for the gaming element, soon as linux cracks that well, I'm done with windows. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.
