anpr vans on the prowl?

Just been following a plain white merc vito van through Oldham.
I noticed it had 4 camera's on the roof. One for each corner pointing downwards at about 45 degrees.
The camera's looked very similar to the one pictured below.
I couldn't see who was driving the van though.

If they are anpr vans?? i`m glad....

IMO they should replace speed cameras with ANPR's. Reduce the number of stolen/un taxed/un mot'ed/un insured motorists. Make the roads safer for everyone without persecuting the law abiding motorists for going a few mph over the limit.

I quite agree there, i'm all legal so i'm not too concerned, Although the van did carve me up coming off a roundabout. Mad

Yep, ANPR, usually close to a big group of traffic cars and bikes ready to give chase. Don't have a problem with them as they do a worthwhile job with uninsured, taxed, MOT'd drivers.
