lol.
Yeah, but you get to be really smug when you need it up off the ground and you're in the middle of nowhere and your paddock stand's at home. |

As I've just bought a bike without a centre stand, I had to buy a paddock stand. I bought a front and rear from ebay for £60, delivered within 24 hours.
As for chain lube, I use PJ1 and find it to be v. good. Spray it on in the evening, by the morning the solvent has evaporated leaving the lube on the chain, and it doesn't get flung all over the back wheel. |

I think the operating weight is somewhere in the region of 260kg (ish?) on the cx, like bendy says its all in the technique, lifting it from the back of the bike is almost impossible but lifting it from a above the stand (where there is a handy bar) and push down on the stand as you pull up, dead easy, it suprises me when i see grown men changing to crimson red (and grunting like they are giving birth to a coconut backwards) trying to get 150kg bikes on their stand.. how odd...
As far as chain lube, i used the halfords own one and never had a problem (apart from the chain enclosure but thats a different story) the sprays are better as (after takeing them for a run to warm up the chain) its drawn into the chain, 3in1 oil for example will just fly off allover the road and probably be mostly gone after a few miles of ridding (or mounded up in previously mentioned enclosure leaving a really nasty manky mess to deal with).. aah shaft drive ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I went into the local Yam dealer yesterday for some chain lube. Guy behind the counter said, 'this is what the guys in the workshop wil put on it at your services, so if you want to use the same stuff, this is it!'
So I bought a can. And a chain lube remover for cleaning it beforehand too.
If it stop p*ssing it down with rain later I'll give it a proper clean and then do the chain too.
Now, where did I put my old toothbrush... ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP
