Well tomorrow morning I will be off on my trip.
Leaving home at 05.00 going to the tunnel for 08.00 then off to Alkmaar in Holland. The following days through germany into Chech Republic, skirting round the Czech Republic and arriving at Cesky Krumlov on Sunday night. A couple of rest days then 3 days to get home.
Camping along the way and B&B in Cesky Krumlov. The whole trip is about 2500 miles.
A few new things for this year, Hood jeans, new boots and a Tomtom to guide me but will still use soggy maps as well, so no getting lost in cities.
Hopfully some of the campsited have internet so I will add to this along the way, failing that I will do a write up when I get home, with if I can manage it some pics too.
Simon

I just got back from France/Andorra.

Do something I didn't do and check the exchange rate and make your plans according to that. I didn't get as far as I had hoped thanks to how crap the GBP is at the moment. Mad Mad Mad

G'Luck, enjoy. Very Happy Thumbs Up

I have calculated to spend £70 a day, hope that that will be enough. Petrol, campsite and food/drink. ( £30, £10, £30 ) I have £250 in reserve and if I am still struggling will use plastic for fuel and resturants.
Western europe will be more expensive than previous years but am hoping that the Czech Republic will be good on living expenses,ie Food and beer.
Petrol will be the big expense though.

FYI, I read somewhere that the Czech Republic has the best performing currency in the world at this moment in time. I'd imagine it's only "expensive" in Prague though (which it is - very - £4 for a coffee eek)

well am 7 days into my trip, the weather has been very cold but am surviving.
The far east of the CR is a bit remote and am not use to english people. My speedo cable broke but could not get one in Germany so have made use of my tacho and tomtom which has been invaluble as I think I would have got lose a number of times without it.
I will give a fuller write up when I get back
