The place near me (Lightning Training) have just quoted me £398.00 for a 2 day intensive. That includes the test itself, and that's the new one (which pushed up the price by £20).

No spaces left for the old test before the 29th which is a bugger. Knew i shoulda booked it weeks ago Rolling Eyes

IMO, don't be too worried about being on a de-restricted NSR whilst on L plates. Get a bit of experience and then you'll need to spend out less on lessons. Thumbs Up

See you are from Plymouth Thumbs Up

Did my A2 test at First Class Training. Fantastic instructors
Paid £330 for 2 and a half days training. Bike hire for that time, and for the test obviously.

It's definitely worth doing.

If that's Lighting in Oxford/Reading then they are fantastic.

Jonathan, their chief instructor is superb.

A little pricey, but yes, they are good. Took my CBT with them, but we had Gordon, the big guy, sound bloke too. Ex-copper apparently.

Does everyone have training now?

What happened to doing your CBT, riding round on L plates for a year, then taking your test and passing 2nd or 3rd time.
Much cheaper than all of this training.

I paid £60. Which was the test fee. Just remembered the lessons I learnt on my cbt, bought a "how to pass the test" book for a tenner, got some tips on here and gave it a go.

For the £300 you could attempt the test 5 times! And chances are, if you're sensible about it you could pass on the first go. Saves a wad of money. Just me 2 cents

EDIT* Exactly what robby said

Mine was about 350 for a 3 day course, including everything except the theory, so all gear, fuel, bike, insurance and that was all taken care of.

New test comes in at the end of October, as much as it'll be a bit more hassle, none of the off road test stuff sounds like it's very hard. Ride around these cones, do an emergency stop, and other such stuff. Just sounds like part of your CBT. It'll be all of about 15 minutes extra, probably not the end of the world. Wink

Your going to be driving like a girl if your going in for your A2, and as your other thread says youve just been caught by same camera twice so 6 points, New license holders can have max 6 points, so if you get caught for anything worthy of points again, its revoked license lol.

their ''guaranteed pass'' is a scam, read the small print. my friend recently went against my advice and got done out of £200 on technicalities in their smallprint.

I'm seriously thinking about doing the same, my CBT was just going over what i already knew or could do, and i imagine the test being the same, but my only concern is that i don't have a big bike to practice on beforehand, or to do the test itself.

Did you hire one, or borrow, or had you one already?

Ahahaha so you think a Busa has no advantage over an RS in the real world and you want to be on one in two years?

What's your name, I'll write you an obituary.

The big issue at the moment is still the new test, everyones is advising of costs and success based on the current test.

I dont think the new off road element of the test is going to be a huge issue however we wont know until a couple of weeks into October when we see what the pass rates are and of course more importantly who here passes or fails it, me included!

Try riding one and then come back and say that! Rolling Eyes

The busa would be the far better bike for what the OP wanted it for (touring etc..).
