just thought id share some pics of my 6 weeks away, sorry about the size ive been away too long to remember how to resize things

we started off sailing just south of plymouth to get the task group together before sailing to norway, anyone who says you dont get seasick on an aircraft carrier is lying, give the north sea a try

desolate place, -20 degrees, and 4 foot of snow at the end of the gangway, not a lot to do there, and ship was relatively warmer so i stayed on it mostly, and given the number of broken legs that was probly wise personal thanks to the chief bosuns mate who thought it would be clever to spray the entire flight deck with salt water before getting in, thinking that salt would stop ice forming, top marks old chap, im sure the ships company who were up there chipping the 2 inch layer of ice off the next day, thought it a great idea too

For the next month we were Sailing in the Arctic Circle, helping the marine boys play in the snow, and acting as a platform for them to dry off and warm up when the wimps got too cold

views like this are good at first, but you do start feeling a bit far from home after a while

After a solid month sailing, we headed for Copenhagen, there was much pissing up for 3 days, and goose was happy, on the 4th day he rested and took a hungover stroll

overall, 6 weeks of crap for one or two good days, but probly worth it in the end, and there is no greater feeling than sailing back home, and the trip...well its another stamp in the logbook of life, quite an experience at times

If we are caught on the base with a camera its an arse-raping offence We can't have camera phones either

as long as i dont take pictures of anything sensitive, then its ok, hence why you see no pictures from the operations room/restricted compartments etc, camera's are registered onboard, and i know they are happy about shots from the upper deck and stuff

dont think there is anything there you wouldnt see on the mod website, hopefully, but if there is, lets just keep it a secret

your degree of clearance must be higher than mine, i dont have access to anything that is a serious risk to national security, as far as i know
