What i was muttering to myself as i bounced along the ground about an hour ago.

Residentral road, i was following a bus looking to overtake (as you do) it came to a stop to spew out predestrians, i pulled up behind waited for a couple of seconds so as not to hit any prats walking out from the front. Slipped into first pulled out then whack the car following me was so impatient he tried to get past me and the bus. Smacked into the front of my bike, sending me and the bike onto the left side, cue "ouch ow ouch ow ouch" as i rolled along the tarmac for about 6 meters. Got up to find the bus driver picking up my bike and rolling it to the road side.

Looked down to count 4 blood patches on my left leg nothing major just scraped away some skin. Managed to get the bike home through the damage means i am not going to make box hill..... mainly due to the whole brakes not working now problem.

Will post damage details when me and milo have some time to go over the bike later, i better go hide blood stained clothese from my mum....

What an arsehole. Probably went home to his wife & 2.4 kids moaning about dangerous bikers.

You still might be able to claim, the Insurance industry has a fund set up for such incidents. If you haven't reported it to the police it might be worth just leaving it: you won't have to report an accident to insurance companies and might save money in the long run.
Police stations should have details about how to claim if you want to... they gave me a leaflet when my mountain bike got knicked (not that the leaflet had anything to do with theft).

Claim = paperwork, i have no witnesses apart from the bus driver who was looking forward when the accident happened behind him

i'll pop up soon mate. did you reconise the car. maybe one from your area? if it is then rid...crawl around seeing if you can spot it. then get it's plate and say you just got it as he was driving off. then he'll be done for dangerous driving and failure to stop/report an accident.
then get Dobles to give you a quote...prob more then the bike's worth so you'll get shite loads back.

Please don't get the impression that all car drivers are like that!...I've been a "cager" for four years so far and have just started biking, and let's just say that I have encountered w@nkers from both "sides"!

The f$cker that did that to you is disgrace to the road generally and will probably be threat with a supermarket trolley...

...on a more brighter (and OT - sorry!) topic, my bike arrived today!...it was a day later than originally specified, but I can't take it on the road until tomorrow anyway...I was relieved that it *just* fitted through the gate into the garden, but wasn't impressed that it was too wide for the conservatory!...oh well, I'm just gonna have to build a little enclosure outside...

Sorry to hear about that minesweeper. At least you walked away from it!
Just reading your description of what happened, how did he hit the front of your bike if he was overtaking you from behind?

Surely riding in the rush hour isn't too bad...nothing moves!...so the 40 minutes will just fly by!...especially as they don't encourage traffic filtering (well, they didn't on the CBT, but I don't know about the test...)

...just out of curiosity, did you take any direct access courses? (I'm assuming that you're doing direct access...?)...if not, what bike are you gonna ride?

fair enough. but i think you've got a bad time for your test...a later time is better. that way you get a good day's tuition before the test.
and in case i forget...GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks Guy's,

No I am not doing the direct access, cos as said B4 I am not paying out any more money to training schools, I am taking the test under my own steam on the NSR, if I pass, I will enjoy the summer on the stroker, if I fail I will still enjoy the summer on the stroker!

I am going to try and contact my local friend on Monday, who is an aproved instructor and if, and only if, he can manage a couple of hours on the Monday and B available that early on the Tuesday then I would consider doing the DAS. But no way am I gona fork out for a three day DAS course when Ive had lots of experence on 500's.

I love my NSR and I can always get a NC30 next year, slap some L plates on and do the test again, I aint scared of tests!! I'm a big boy now!

CU all soon

Is it compulsory to take a DAS course when going for the full test?...can't you just book the test yourself, and hire/borrow a bike for the occassion?

Oh yeah, and Good Luck Mole!...forgot to say that on my previous 2 posts... Razz

I think that I might aim to take a standard test in Easter or Summer, and stay restricted for 2 years...it will at least give an incentive to keep my NSR for a while (not that I'm bored of it already!)...besides, if we move to Weston Super Mare in the summer, I might even get myself a moped! and use it bumble down the mile-long-30mph-camera-enforced road to the beach!...I will keep my NSR of course...

Anyways, you can't get more OT than this! sorry Matt!

Tin,

U can borrow or steal a bike but!!!!! U gota get it to the test centre wiv L plates on, and be Nanny'd by an approved instructor! and that cost's!

Only other wau U can do it is, (1.)practice on private ground (2.) Teleport the bike to the test centre (3.) if U fail, Teleport the bike back ome or if U pass take the bike back 2 where U stole it and WALK OME!

It's a hard life,

Beam me up Scottie,
