I haven't ridden a long distance for sometime now, something around 2 months, so maybe it's just the old action coming back. But it is very uncomfortable at the moment and wondered if there's anything i can do to help the joints and muscles.

K Thumbs Up

Well, for relief, get some form of heat spray or heat rub mate, I find, whatever injury I have (muscle/body/ache wise) it really helps, it gets the blood flowing through it, I think.

Does the zx7 have adjustable levers? If so, bring it all the way in if you havent whilst you get used to a heavy clutch again?

If it doesnt stop hurting, bang a dogleg clutch lever on there, or maybe even have a look at your clutch system to make sure its fully smooth and lubed....this is a stupid suggestion though, cos you'd notice if it wasnt, obvs lol.

Get one of those "Squeezers" to start exercising your grip strength again Thumbs Up

Remove the cable from the lever and attach a plastic funnel. Seal with plasticine and fill the funnel with oil. Takes about 30 mins for the oil to find its way through Thumbs Up

Take some painkillers and keep riding until your hand doesn't hurt anymore.

I had a mate who was always getting pins and needles plus the occasional aches and pains in his clutch hand when riding, the only cure he found was heated grips, worked a treat for him apparently.

i suppose if his hand was warmer the blood circulation would be better. Not sure it would help in your case but maybe worth thinking about.
