So its harvesting/ploughing time!
The farmers round here (North Yorkshire/Teesside) must be having a laugh!
They come out of the fields and leave massive balls of mud all over the road. I mean there the size of horse shit.
At first i thought yeah what dick heads and just rode in the centre of the road where it was sort of okay.
Then it rained and the stuff turned into sloppy mud that flowed over the whole road. Now it was like a skating rink!
How can they get away with this? Shouldnt they clean it up, it wouldnt take too long to scoop most of it up with there tractor scoops.
First time ive ever done a 2 wheel slide

Yes technically it is wrong and an offence for them to deposit mud all over the road, but unfortunately it is a fact of life.
Realistically it isn't viable for tractor tyres to be completely cleaned of mud before they exit a field onto the road and I therefore conclude that we just have to put up with it.
If it bothers you that much don't ride in rural areas. There are far worse and more immoral things to worry about that tractors leaving mud on the road. ____________________ Yamaha YZF-R6 |

Hmm... Always fancied a new car... Might just have to go around at the speed limit on some of the NSL roads near farms and hope i can get some dollar off the farmer ... Not that i'd ever consider doing such a think . |

Though I do think horse riders should have to clean up the horse shit just like dog owners have to clean up their dogs shit. As it is sometimes on main roads here and like mines sometimes avioding them. Thats what I get for living near a horse riding school |

I think it's unreasonable to expect tractors to be cleaned of mud when harvesting, but some thought should be given to bikers from the farmers, for example, not having fields exiting onto a corner, mud on a straight isnt much of a problem.
Oh and by the way, Most every harvest will of been over a good 2 or 3 weeks ago, except ones who where really unlucky with the weather, the time to be wary is august.
And just from the other side of the fence, farmers get a fair bit of stupid twattery from other road users, I was driving a big claas with a record trailer full of wheat, indicated to turn left and swung out right (the whole rig is about the size of a small HGV) and had some wanker in a micra shoot up my inside, followed by a moped |

I live on a farm and they've just one week left to finish the harvest if the weather stays dry. Here they clear up once they've finished, as it doesn't make sense to clear up every day.
Farmer on nearby farm is a bit of a nightmare and doesn't clear up at all though so we all take it in turns to make phone calls to the Council who deny all knowledge and refer us to the Police, who refer us back to Council - dizzy, dizzy!!!
It's only likely to be a couple of weeks, so treat it as off-roading!! ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

I'm about as rural as it gets and I'll call you a pissing farmer
And this is one of the only things that makes me angry on the road, I literally scream and shout inside my helmet, my bike has a habit of being unpredictable at the best of times, cow shit does not help. Why can't they just scrape it off the tyres before they go out, it's not like it'd take long? ____________________ Don't practice it until you get it right, practice it until you don't get it wrong.

would take a while for something like this
https://images.aad.gov.au/img.py/3f2.jpg
or a combine, with smaller tracks, and nowadays a lot of drilling and ploughing is done by tracked tractors.
Oh and if your wondering, yes we had one of them on our farm, and yes I was allowed to borrow it to pop to the pub |

They should have a pressurised water system on their tractors and should be obliged to use it to clean their tyres of mud before proceeding down the road.
With the subsidies they get it's not like they couldn't afford it, bludging tossers that most of them are. "Shooting on my land without permission?!" "Oh fvck off, you fvcking giles." ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |
