My mate asked me about what bike he should be interested when he passes his full licence.
Currently he has a XR125, when he passes he said he'd be quite into a Bandit. He likes that kind of look, but doesn't mind the sports fairings, his budget is around £1500 maybe more. Has to be reliable.

Any ideas guys would be great Thumbs Up

98/99/00 Hornet for that sorta money. More sporty than the bandit, looks better in my opinion and is a better allround bike (bar fuel tank capacity).

Possibly a Fazer 600? Can get a slightly newer one 01/02 for around that I reckon.

If he fancies a sports bike, a 98/99 600 in OKAYish condition could probably be had for that price, though insurance costs will be gay.

If he wants cheap insurance, Curvy/Naked SV650, good alround bike. Again, 98-01 would probably be in the price range.

Not sure if you'd get one for 1500 though Beatnck?

Especially with the first model being 02/03?

My '04 (admittedly, awesome condition) was £2700. Question

Awesome bike for the money though.

Could get a mint Bandit for that money, or a very decent Hornet.

The tank range on the Hornet is an issue, the tradeoff is it is lighter and more flickable than the Bandit.

Any of the mid nineties 600/fours from the Japanese are tried and tested enough to be reliable, and can be had for under 1500, which should get a neat SRAD or FZR, or a tatty ZX, CBR or R6.

Though the best way to get a bargain is to not tie yourself down to one specific model, pick up a local free-ads and see what fits the criteria
